That does sound silly. Why should there be only one promotion spot from the Conference (which is effectively Football League 3 these days), when there are four from League 2 to League 1? There should be two automatic promotion spots in the Conference, with a third going up via the play-offs.

That sounds like a very odd situation. Our trust is an Industrial & Provident Society (IPS) and is fully regulated by the Industrial and Provident Societies Act and accountable for all its financial dealings and transactions. I guess yours isn't or wasn't.

I think releasing Joe Clarke is a mistake. When played as an attacking midfielder he is top quality. If I was a conference manager I'd be on the phone to him.
