Crofts was arguably Flynn's worst signing for us in terms of what we got vs what we thought we were getting. Never remotely fit, started 5 in the league and 4 off the bench. Three games in August followed by three months out etc etc.

Someone mentioned Billy Waters as a possible for Barrow - we had him a couple of years ago and he was one of those loanees who start OK but soon lose interest.

If it does override interference, a canny coach could engineer a tactic where a group of players deliberately stand offside and chase down the ball but with instructions not to touch it, while one stays just onside and takes possession.

Puzzled why it wasn't given as offside when a player standing yards off hares after the ball but stops in his tracks when a teammate who is onside presumably gives him a call. Albeit briefly he's occupying defenders' thought processes and field of vision and therefore interfering, surely?

Re Armstrong to Walsall - I'm pretty sure when he played well against County Flynn said he had been interested.
