Honeyman, for the whole season.
If it was for best player right now, probably edged by Docherty.
Also rans, Greaves, Coyle, Wilks, Elder.
Truth is though, and probably a major reason why we're champions, there genuinely isn't a weak link in the team. Some have been better than others, but there...
Well. Phew. Game of 2 halves, we comprehensively outplayed them 1st half, they could barely string two passes together, we missed good chances and had a stonewall penalty turned down. Had to take Honeyman off at half time before the ref sent him off, and made wrong tactical decision with...
I'd disagree with the first bit, we were excellent, although we didn't ned to be given how bad Argyle are.
As for the second, we're no worse than anyone else in the main, but we do have two players who are bad at that, Honeyman and even more so, Wilks. Particularly with Wilks, most City fans...
We were terrible in the first half, average in the second, so happy to come away with a point particularly as it was same result for all teams at the top. Couldn't help feeling if we'd started with Magennis rather than bringing him on at half time, we'd have got into the game and come away with...
Er, nonsense. We have under pitch heating, I'm pretty sure we have never had a game called off because the pitch at the KC was unplayable. There have been a very small number called off because conditions were too dangerous for fans, which is no longer a problem.
Disappointing result, but if you don't take your chances, and miss an open goal with 2 minutes to go, you can't complain when you lose. Was surprised by Jorge Grant, presumably that was an off day as both Docherty and Crowley were better than him by a long way.
Plenty of departures - Adelakun back to Bristol City, Samuelsen to Denmark, Batty to Fleetwood, de Wijs to QPR, Sheaf out on loan, Milinković permanent move to Canada (was on loan but we would have been paying part of wages). Incoming are Flores, Whyte, Crowley and Clark. Good window.
We've signed Max Clark on a short term deal from Vitesse Arnhem. Bit of a shock considering PL clubs were interested when he was playing regularly in the Eredvisie.
And Flores, but they'll manage it through departures. De Wijs already gone. and would have been one of the top earners, Samuelsen on his way to Norway soon, maybe Batty also on his way out. Would expect as many departures as arrivals.
I think it's very unlikely we'd take a midfield player who doesn't work off the ball. We play a press and everyone has to work hard. We already have a technically good player who doesn't work hard enough (Samuelsen), we don't need another one.
We also made 10 changes, should have been 11 except for warm up late injury. We were poor 1st half, average second. Crewe were odd, better team in 1st half then as soon as we got on top in second they went in to their shells and basically played for penalties, no ambition and lots of time...
We are still capable of occasional poor performances, and we are still only converting a very small proportion of good chances, but it does seem like we are the strongest team. We have some very good players at this level (Burke, Smallwood, Honeyman, Wilks for example), probably the strongest...
We still haven't played particularly well, yet it's 100% record including 2 very comfortable away wins. We haven't played a decent team yet so chickens remain very much uncounted. So far this season my thoughts are:
1) I'd forgotten just how poor the standard is in L1;
2) you can make a lot more...
