The only league that truly matters, the CUFC league. Colchester have a strong lead at the moment, a loss for Cambridge today would surely consign them to relegation as the least significant CUFC club leaving the other two to fight it out for the title.
Our media man had jumped the gun...
I think this is the perfect game for us to go out and win. Cambridge had high hopes at the start of the season and have had a poor start, so you'd expect them to not want to settle for a draw. If they set up attacking to get the win then we should do the same, get Jones and Joyce in midfield...
Disappointing result all things considered although we remain unbeaten. Most of the other promotion contenders have done well tonight, only really Portsmouth who've slipped up (again). Need a result on Saturday now to keep the momentum going.
To be fair the first two - you and Rotherham - are significantly stupider than what Accrington did, probably would've been harsh to punish Accrington at a similair level. All three are moronic though.
What are your full backs like? I'm waiting for Adams, Devitt and Lambe to play together and come up against a nice weak pair of full backs so they can properly run riot.
I think I'd have those three behind Jabo, try and get him up and running on the goal front. Then Jones and Joyce in midfield...
A draw would be disappointing on our part after we've just dispatched Port Vale and Plymouth with relative ease, but I get the feeling we'll go behind for the first time this season and probably have to settle for a point.
This is the easiest match on paper so far this season, so it'd be just like us to screw up. Cheltenham have drawn twice and scored twice in their first two games albeit against play-off contenders both times. I'm confident we've got a better squad than them :fish:, Devitt should be back in and...
Just don't know where Devitt fits if we play two up front, he isn't really the type of centre mid you want playing this sort of match and giving defensive duties but at the same time I feel he could be more influential on a match like this than a second striker such as Wyke.
For me when you've...
Well that sounds promising. We've got goals in us for sure, looking forward to having a full game with Devitt provided the ref doesn't screw things up again. There's still a question mark over how we'll do defensively, the two matches so far aren't helpful at all in assessing whether we're still...
I assume if you're getting rid of Simpson to lower the wage bill you wouldn't then be offering Raynes a ridiculous contract to lure him away from us? If you don't I can't see any reason for him to want to leave, so many factors seem to point to it making more sense from his point of view to stay.
I just feel Derby will be more professional in a tie like this than QPR were last season - I'd love to be proven wrong obviously but they're a very solid team and it'll be very hard to break them down, as it was last time we played them.
By no means is Raynes a League 1 standard defender, surprised Rovers would be looking at him. He'd be a good signing for a fellow League 2 team looking for a someone dependable, but from our perspective it's getting a bit late in the transfer window and he's played a big part in the first 2...
