He wasn't very good when we had him, but he was very young. His best attribute seemed to be having a good sense of where to be to pick up second balls, so maybe you could turn him into a poacher, but wasn't particularly quick or particularly strong, or particularly clinical. Was a few years ago...
Honestly, wish our boardroom was just a tad more leaky. We barely get any news up until about an hour before we sign.
As Maglorie is injured we'd still need a Centre-back to cover/push Guthrie and Sherring, a quality centre-midfielder to replace Leonard unless he comes back on loan, an inside...
I think the expectation that he'll replace Koiki in the squad (albeit not injured) when he leaves and Haynes will remain the cover option. Don't know much about him though.
Edit : Seems to be the general opinion of Barrow fans that he'll always work his socks off, which seems a very Brady era...
Not signed any new players yet, but Max Dyche has took up an offer for a new contract. Going to be a fringe player at most, might even get loaned out depending on whether we bring in anyone to cover Maglorie's injury until 2024 or use him for the job.
Apparently we'd get compensation for Koiki...
Honestly, I think it's better for teams to come 2nd and 3rd in League two than Champions. When we went up under Wilder, we lost him and our best player Ricky Holmes in the summer after. FGR got picked apart the same way last year. Better to go under the radar and underappreciated some times.
The guy who reliably knows the club dealings says that Koiki has rejected a new contract. Would have been first choice left back, but spent a lot of last season injured, so not sure who would have taken a punt on him. Good dribbler, better going forward than he is defensively. Upper L2/Lower L1...
Only question is about his injuries... a feel like going anyone with injury concerns after last year would cut it off straight away.
In regards to Bowie, supposedly his girlfriend is pregnant which is why he wants to spend this year back up north, but then there was something online about a...
At the end of the day, whoever wins will deserve to go up... but if you're thinking of your own self-interest, Stockport have deep pockets and last year lost around £5m, and will definitely be going again in League One, so more likely to trouble the top end of the table.
One of those things where the grass is always greener, it's been 56 years since we've been in any League other than League 1 or 2 now. 'Where my club deserves to be' is always such a subjective thing, when in reality and ultimately it's always 'based on how well the squad that represents you in...
Moxon is the highest rated player for the entire League 2 this year on whoscored. https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/9/England-League-Two . I imagine he'll be on a lot of team's radars.
When we had him, there was a period of time where people were saying he off the game a lot because he had family issues, and part of the reason we released him was the Curle said he was homesick and needed to be further up North, so definitely a player who needs a lot of looking after. Also, he...
I'd probably still take Jacobs back tbh, my favourite ever academy prospect, I don't think even Toney had the talent he had when he was a teenager (though obviously wrong in hindsight considering the latter's career).
Our retained list showed zero surprises. The bulk of a squad is under...
Not going to lie, there's a morbid part of me that wants to see Salford at Wembley (to lose), just to see whether the genuinely take 3000 fans to it. Good luck to everyone going through it.
I think if any of Bradford, Stockport or Salford going up will have the resources to bother this League more than any of the teams that went up in automatics. We're going on 55 years in League one or two and are perennially either battlling to go up to League 1 or stay in it, so will probably be...
While the result didnt matter, honestly think Hartlepool helped us up there, the mood lifted for the players immediately after Cooke got the equaliser.
