We're currently headed into this season, as light as any team can be. Looks like a dire, and quite frankly, disgraceful situation to be in at this stage of pre-season.
Indeed. Speaking to 3 top managers allegedly. One of them is Pembleton, with no real long-term stints as a manager at senior level.
Gordons act is proving to be tiresome.
One of the ones I grew to dislike to be honest.
Will show of glimpses of quality, but really shown bad body language. Always used to jog back once the ball was past him.
If he can get his attitude together and not be lackadaisical then he may prove to be a decent player.
Disappointed with this. Don't think a Declan Weeks will get you out of this league.
Basically a centre half when he plays he drops that deep, allowing the opposing midfielders as much time as they want on the ball. Also too lightweight. Good technically though.
Butterfield on the other hand...
Congrats to Stockport - would have always been a threat for aslong as they were down here.
As for us, we will be down here for as long as our egotistical chairman is still in charge. His post match interview on Saturday was disgraceful, particularly to a man who has been working for free for...
Hall - Rid
Palmer - Keep as backup
Heaton - Undecided, not given a chance for whatever reason
Higginson - Keep, cheap as backup
Horsfall - Keep
Johnson - Rid
O'Connor - Rid if possible
Taylor - Rid
Butterfield - Keep
Daniels - Rid
Penn - Rid
Truslove - Rid
Weeks - Rid
Williams - Keep
Austin -...
To be fair Styche's attitude in our relegation season was very good, i'd probably go as far as saying he was one of two players who shown any fight that season (him and Whitfield). He's a decent player but his personality on the pitch can certainly be eccentric.
We were brilliant yesterday. Best away performance of our Conference North era for me.
McFarlane as mentioned above, seems to be doing everything right at the minute. His post-match comments about the York jibes before the match were superb. You can tell he demands respect from his players, a...
Worst side i've seen us face so far that Stockport side.
Still unbeaten but still not convinced by us so far this season although I am taking much more of a liking to the new boss than Eustace.
Three weeks into the season, and you've called off three (four rearranged) home games.
Never seen anything like it if i'm being honest. I'm glad any teams, even if they are given the option, are not allowing for any fixture reversal. Should have some contingency in place surely.
I was right infront of it in the East Stand. His stoods were showing and both feet left the ground. Definite red for me.
The sad thing is, initially, the referee was going to completely ignore it, it was only from the reaction of the crowd and the players that he probably realised the tackle...
Games come thick and fast in August for the simple fact that weather doesn't contribute to the eventual bogmires at certain grounds in this league. Could end up being another Spennymoor situation come February, what an embarrassment that would be.
Absolute madness.
Alfreton are a good side, even though I think their style of play will be uglier than most times (not surprising with a Heath side). They'll be up their in contention i'm sure.
Defensively we look a bit suspect, I think 3-5-2 will work, however Johnson is yet to convince me that he is a...
Croasdale is a big hit for us. My player of the season last year, breaks up play well and generally a good passer of the ball. Was outstanding when he played a deeper role, aswell as an advanced role and chipped in with a few goals.
Sonupe leaving was a miss, his unpredictability and pace will...
We are full-time yes, so to lose to 2 part-time teams on our own patch in the two play-off games over the last 2 seasons is embarrassing. Especially if you consider our home form over the last two years has been excellent.
I'm not sure on our budget but when you have the likes of a 75k Bradley...
