Not great from us, haven't got the intensity there tonight and it's not quite clicking. Had enough of the game to suggest we'll create in the second half, long way to go.
Couple of changes for us, Coleman and Williams in for Hutton and Lapslie, with McKenzie slotting into right back. Good to see Dieng back on the bench too.
On paper it's a month that's a good opportunity to pick up plenty of points, particularly in the three home games. Hopefully we can properly put down a marker in terms of the league and go along at over 2 points a game which I think is manageable.
Grimsby H - Win - Their fans on here appear to...
Still out, although despite probably being our best individual defender I think Ehmer and Ogie is our best partnership there.
Bonner did say last week that it was the first time the entire first team squad had been training on grass since he was here, but some will still be a few weeks away -...
Perhaps, we don't really have a big physical squad to challenge for all the aerial stuff this season - Dieng, Andrews and Hawkins probably our biggest aerial threats but the first two are injured and Hawkins will almost certainly be on the bench as he isnt mobile enough for Bonners system. We've...
Grimsby at home on a Tuesday night is the very definition of a game to slip up on. Last few weeks have seen us play several sides at the top of the table and we've done well, but this is likely to be another challenge entirely. Grimsby not in bad form at all but seem to be a bit all or nothing...
Slightly better than predicted, with the excellent win at Notts added to the two home wins. A very tricky month navigated pretty well considering 3 out of the 4 games were 1st v 2nd match ups and Tranmere were unbeaten and right up there when we played them.
Very happy to have been proven correct - sounded like a very straightforward victory. Still only 2 goals conceded in the league this season which is remarkable.
Just one change in the starting 11 from Notts, Nolan coming in for Gbode. Dack and Coleman back for the bench, Wakeling and Euan Williams drop out of the 18.
Fair question, but I'll answer that with a question of my own - if a side creates 3 exceptional chances but doesn't take any, and the other team have 2 good quality shots from long range that find the net, who deserves the win? The point is you can't just define who 'deserves' to win a game...
I do hear what you're saying, and there's every chance we'll get slapped 3-0 by someone unexpected like Newport out of nowhere at some stage. I don't buy into it as a cumulative thing - well to be fair I don't buy into xG at all, it's an absolute load of balls - where it all adds up over a...
Not really a massive one for judging on stats personally but we've played several sides who like to dominate possession and are good attacking sides, it's not a massive shock that the way we've set up against them isn't conducive to what the stat guys love. We might give up some chances but it's...
