Got away with our fixture movements to a degree - as with everyone else it seems to be the games from mid-December onwards which are affected.
Cheltenham H moved to Friday 20th December from the Saturday
Wimbledon A moved to Monday 30th December (7.45) from Sunday 29th
Bromley H moved from NYD...
Looking at that list of the sides in the division, there's an awful lot of 'filler' in there. Good opportunity for a side to sneak into the play-offs and possibly cause an upset. Scunny, Oxford, Brackley, Kidderminster - outside that I don't see anyone particularly strong.
I thought he was superb in that friendly against you in fairness, a properly direct winger with decent end product. Fair play to get him sorted so quickly.
Southend 1-3 Gills, Nolan, Clarke and Wyllie with the goals. Loads of first teamers unavailable but still having a decent pre-season. Two more to go, Southampton U21s behind closed doors this week then a trip to Woking next weekend. Get through those without too much more damage to numbers in...
Agreed - they shouldn't be having any relegation worries like last season but I'm fairly confident they're not much better than around 9th or 10th in that league. Good strikeforce though.
Updated list for us, inclusive of the youth team players who have made appearances so far this pre-season. Hawkins has made the move to centre back for us now if pre-season is anything to go by, but still on the transfer list. Still need a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder for me...
I've seen a lot of Faal, it was me that pushed for Maidstone to sign him last season!
He's big, he's quick, he's awkward, he scores goals. But I'd be mightily surprised if he made the step to League One, I don't think that'll work at all. National League striker I would say, but then again...
2-0 victory over Watford, goal in each half from a triallist and Jack Nolan. Good runout, 6 Academy boys involved over the course of the 90 minutes so a useful afternoon. Strong Watford side but won't read a thing into a pre-season result.
I was doing a scout report as a favour for someone I know who happens to be Harborough Town's manager - they play Stamford opening day.
Plus Stamford is only about 25 minutes from my house and it was a better option than spending the evening trying to wrangle my toddler into going to sleep.
I liked Hoddle last season at St Albans, thought he looked a classy player albeit at NLS. Is he likely to be back with your first team this season or out on loan again? I guess it's probably a situation where you'll look at him pre-season and then make a call I suppose.
He did ok last night to be fair, didn't look out of place and scored a couple. I hope for Rotherham's sake that they don't expect to start the season with the front pairing from last night though (Hugill and Osong) as they missed a hatful - quite simple chances as well.
As has happened every window for a couple of years, someone on one of our boards has suggested Bradley Dack is set for a return. So many reasons to not think this is a good idea but at the same time it's Bradley Dack - if we got 15/20 games out of him we'd probably be lucky but it'd be great to...
