Mmm, not really expecting a result tonight tbh. Slow-starters the past 3 seasons, lost our big striker on Friday. Didn't look too good on Saturday and had an average pre-season, getting turned over by NLN sides. I see we are 7/1 tonight, which is a bit big, but I'm not tempted. I've seen us pull...
The stream was good, the game was awful. Two very limited sides, admittedly hampered by the subaquatic pitch. Jordan Hulme was badly missed, I fear it could be a long and messy season.
He is good, 70 goals in 140 games I just read. I'm sure he'll do well, the kind of player you'd hate if he didn't play for your team.
I did worry he'd be getting sent off every other game in the top division - I recall last time we played in this division, the refs are a lot more card-happy...
Shudder, 4 of those (Metz, Morrison-Derbyshire, Lenighan and Obeng) turned out for us in our apocalyptic 2016-17 season.
Metz was signed on loan from Burnley, played in the starting XI that night and was never seen again, in a quintessential Neil Young fashion.
The other three turned up...
Me neither, though I do think it will be tough going this season.
As good as this team could look when on song, it was made to look very ordinary on numerous occasions in the 2 years in the NLN, by worse teams than those you'll find in the NL.
Looking forward to it though, except Edgeley Park
My joy at promotion was somewhat tempered by the prospect of a 5th consecutive fruitless, goalless day out at Edgeley Park, stuck in that corner of the ground.
Some of those 2 year deals seem odd to me. I understand a few of them, but a number of the others are the wrong side of their peak, and /or what you would not consider to be very "commercial". It may come back to haunt, but like Pieman says, have to wait and see.
