Never saw anyone post a figure for Macc fans at Guiseley on Tuesday, but my friend reckoned there were 250 ish - perhaps GuiseleySteve could confirm? I wasn't there and that figure seems quite high to me.
Chester are obviously the bigger club, but I don't think it's the right move for either Askey or Chester, so I'd be very surprised if it happened. If Port Vale continue to do badly though....
I used the phrase hoping for a reaction off someone like you. It seems someone was triggered. :bdick:
As for the figure, I haven't really got a clue. See what Solihull Mooron thinks.
It wasn't a great game at Solihull. I thought Macc probably edged it over the 90 minutes although neither team often looked like scoring. The turning point was Jalal producing a brilliant save from a penalty, which had come about during Solihull's best spell of the game, before Scott Wilson...
It was very hard to tell how many Macc fans there were at Solihull because everyone really was 'spread around'.
At a guess, I would have said there were around 180-200 Macc fans in total.
I think it's the right thing to do in terms of not needing to fully segregate the match for small away followings from teams like ourselves and Solihull. I just think that when full segregation is not in order, then for the purpose of these away following statistics, it's probably better to use...
I have to agree with you regarding the 'advisory' away turnstile at Aldershot. Half our fans for the past 3 years have just ignored it and entered through any turnstile, as there is effectively no segregation, rendering the 'official' away figure pretty pointless and about 50/60% of the actual...
The number is probably about right, but they have no way of accurately getting that figure. It wasn't segregated and both sets of fans went through the same turnstile - they must have just looked about and plucked a number out of thin air. :dk:
There's a supporters bus going to Sutton tonight I believe. Given our London exiles normally outnumber the fans who actually travel from Macc for these sorts of game, I think, bizarrely, we might take more fans to Sutton than we did on a Saturday last season. I don't think their efforts will be...
