I do see this argument but for me it's as much about the sides that hover around the bottom of L2 for years as it is the quality of teams coming up. It might need more thought around supporting teams that go down, but then if it's not as hard to come back up then that might not be needed. On...
I might be reading it wrong but I don't think it even addresses the fixture congestion issue that well anyway - they're going to have cup games on weekends with no PL clashes, so that will only push those league games to midweek, and they're starting later and getting rid of the winter break...
I'd be surprised if we go "full Bradford" (obviously would be delighted) but there is definitely a huge opportunity, particularly with those 18-23s who have seen theirs go up 400% or whatever it is.
I was genuinely gutted when they went up, I thought it was really bad news for Notts but it's...
Good explanation of how far away we are really, the quality you had missing as well as coming off the bench and we had to recall a defender from Boston United to fill the bench with about 4 injuries.
We've just got nothing with so few players willing/able to put a shift in and against a really good team it showed. The defence is a calamity waiting to happen at all times but they got nothing from those in front of them, Langstaff and Austin aside.
I believe in the style of play if we get...
Team of the season not Best 11 players, so you'll always get some differences between the two. Jones will have been very easy to vote for with his injury history and the record on his side
Max Dean not read the script at all, the crowd is all set up to turn on the team, so he decides to give them someone else to hate. Deserve to be at least level at half time, not sure we can keep this press up but we've been very good I think.
Yes, thank god they've been keeping it to themselves the last few weeks.
Think it'll be really interesting anyway, a team playing a similar style but clearly much more successful with it. I would probably start with pressing high in mind and leave out McGoldrick and/or Crowley, whether there's...
I do not think Maynard is blameless but they were in 6th by playing out of their skin for a manager they believed in and had 100% confidence in. Whoever came in had a tough job on to keep that up, no doubt he's done a bad job and needs to go but I don't think anyone was likely to keep up the run...
The difference would presumably be the stability of income streams. I don't think yours are going away any time soon but Notts' (and other clubs') incomes are fairly easy to predict, whereas projecting what yours will be in two years is probably quite difficult. Any average fan is going to look...
Ah good, I was worried for a while after our accounts came out I was wrong to say Wrexham operated in an entirely different world to Notts last season.
Ludicrous amounts all round but to be fair I think it's still less than we lost getting promoted from L2 in 2010 which was around £7m.
Agree, it would need to be an incredible run to get in the playoffs and I don't think we're capable of it. The best I'm hoping for is a few wins to get some belief back in the fanbase and we can start next season on the front foot.
I'd say the same about ours, 0-0 nailed on.
Baldwin is unavailable (10th yellow at the weekend), but at least on this occasion we've been able to replace him with a centre back instead of a guy who played wing back last season.
I think I will accept Maynard getting the boot before the end of the season if there's a genuinely exciting/clearly better candidate who we would otherwise lose out on - though to be honest if the owners have lost faith there's no reason for him to stick around. I don't think it's fair to assess...
Entertainers FC are back, playing 3 players I'd guess are best as full backs in a back 3. Though to be honest, looking at the bench I'm not sure there's too many other options.
