The worst I can recall was because of weakness rather than just being plain wrong. It was an FA cup game in 2015 against Chester. We were awarded a penalty, and I'm fairly sure the ball actually got as far as the penalty spot before the Chester players effectively just argued him into changing...
Hahaha I remember that game very well, you battered us. Agree, it was a shocker, and our second was the softest goal I've ever seen. Finished way past 10pm as well after Tom Marshall broke his ankle. I remember walking to the car listening to the disbelief in the voices of the Grimsby fans.
I've never seen Sutton.
Ceesay is interesting. When he first turned up he looked very raw and unfinished, like he could be anything. Unfortunately, I think he just looks raw and unfinished. He looks ungainly, but he's faster than you think. I saw him have maybe 2 great games for us, the rest...
Coming here and reading about Andy Owens and Craig Hobson is causing me to re-experience the shittiest Alty side I've ever seen, the 2016-17 shower.
Next, someone will say Danny Hattersley has signed for them.
This guy reminds me of that very short-lived Kings Lynn fan earlier in the year. I think it was Kings Lynn anyway, definitely Norfolkian, older man. Can't remember if he got banned or left of his own accord.
Exploded on to the scene with many posts, very quickly descended into name calling.
Andrew Dales played for us on loan for a couple of games last season, seemed half decent then got injured and disappeared. Think he was a Mickleover player before his Scunthorpe move.
Meppen-Walter to Radcliffe is another interesting chapter for him
No score bore draw with Torquay. I guess they were saving their legs for their proper game next week, but they didn't look at all special, kind of on a par with Eastleigh the other night. I see they've now gone 4 without a win, that would be somewhat worrying for them.
Got to agree with the Pieman there (not often that happens, ngl).
If Eastleigh do make the playoffs I wouldn't be remotely worried about facing them. They looked fit and worked hard, but were toothless. Should have done them really, it took their soft goal to drive us into action. Always nice...
I wonder where and when the "welcome to non-league" moment will occur? My money is on our place, mid-August 2021.
Mansfield Town's welcome to non-league match report meltdown from 2008, posted on our forum a few weeks back:
"A gut wrenching display from The Stags at Altrincham that really...
Yes, that was quite the rollercoaster, considering it was as dead a rubber as you could possibly find.
Was that not a strong Yeovil XI then? I was late into the ground, first thing I saw was the GBH on your player. I think that is the first time this season we have scored four.
