There was a player that simulated to get one of ours sent off in the national league a few years ago, possibly an Ebbsfleet player.
Our red was overturned and their player given a three match ban. It was said it’d spark more work from the FA like that, but went quiet on the topic quickly.
Harrogate are a very frustrating side to play against. They’re more direct even than Sutton; and Alexander up top is a good target man, possibly the best at winning the aerial duels in the league.
Aside from that Harrogate were very ordinary but battled very hard, with some unusual officiating...
Interesting how we appear quite well in some of these graphs even with such a injury hit start to the season. We still have almost 10 players injured even now, but you’d probably say the 11 playing is our best 11.
There’s a long season ahead. Still plenty of time for change and I wouldn’t expect the top 7 to look the same in May.
January as always presents the chance for clubs to “go for it” if they’re in a good position and can strengthen or lower down and playing catch up, but signings aren’t always...
What kind of threat do Crewe pose; are they about wingers or do they pass it through the lines in the middle of the pitch?
Interesting contrast to the games against Walsall and Sutton who were both extremely direct.
Barrow looked very ordinary and not quite sure how they’re that position in the table. Similar situation to Harrogate last year where they got found out I suspect.
Our back four is simply ridiculous for this level and some of the players not even making it would get into most other teams in the...
Hartlepool have had the best chance of the half but aren’t very good at playing football.
Real contrast in styles as Hartlepool look to hoof it (against our back three, lol). While some tidy passing from Tranmere is generally being wasted by some poor decision making in the final third.
Yes agree with the above. DJ is a decent poacher but his all round game is lacking and teams with higher budgets will be looking to get more potential attributes out of their strikers.
The one on Nevitt in the opening exchanges was as nailed on a penalty as it gets, the referee clearly bottled it due to the time of game.
The one on Hemmings is one of those that probably gets a free kick but rarely a penalty so not as fussed about that one.
Turnbull, Davies & Morris all to...
Mansfield the better side overall and we were poor second half. 1-0 probably not a fair reflection of the game though. Rovers should have scored at least one and Mansfield although not missing any clear cut chances like we did; were wasteful in the final third.
Poor tactically from Mellon.
Mansfield getting away with murder here. Stone wall pen for a drag back on Nevitt after 2 minutes, free kicks to Mansfield when they mislay a pass. Bizarre stuff.
Relatively even game besides all that nonsense with the best chance falling to Hemmings who maybe should have scored.
