Sounds typical .. given that when we were the Conference we had Elliott Frear leave us for Scottish Prem, now we’ve gone up a league and taking players from two leagues below the Scottish Premier. Doesn’t make sense. Why don’t we just bring in a lower L2 standard keeper, can’t be that hard...
I reckon they did the maths and said ****-it let him go. He came back in pre-season from 7 weeks straight of boozing - fat and disinterested in playing for us. We were offered £100k from Notts, he's on at least £100k wages. If we left him out of the team for 3months and sold him in Jan I doubt...
On Cooper Jnr .. yeah u may be right. At the moment he looks proper NL, but he could he make get into L2, however currently he has zero influence on a game. Agreed with transfer policy.. poor.
We need a strong, physical, athletic midfielder beside Drissa not a 20 year old managers son who is ok but cannot influence the game. The kid is going to be decent, but we need his energy later in the game. He is not an influential player now!
Fact: we lost our best player from last year to...
I suspect the lightweight guy in midfield you were referring to was Charlie Cooper the gaffers son.
He was still on second half but we went from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 so we managed to cover his deficiencies, I mean, take the pressure off him with 3 in central midfield.
We were woeful 1st half and much improved 2nd with Drissa Traore coming on in midfield. Three out of our four defenders had poor games and some of the balls played into Doidge are just stupid, how he is expected to do anything with them is beyond me.
I like the cut of your jib!
Will be very interesting to see if Cooper goes back to three CB, because despite getting our first win last weekend we still shipped three goals. However I think he should stick with two because our poor display at the back had a lot to do with the lack of...
I don't think the lad was deliberately time-wasting. His kicking was very poor in the our game v Barnet (and even then he was taking too long to kick the damn thing), so I think he knows it's a weakness and takes heaps of time trying to get it right and given his youth (he's 19 I think) he just...
The more I look at our starting XI the more I am concerned about lack of League experience.
Only L.Collins, Laird, Traore, Noble, Doidge with any decent experience.
The rest are either u21s (B.Collins, Iacovetti, Evans, Cooper, Brown) or non-league (Bennett, Monthe).
Doubt KMB will start given we've been playing a 5-4-1 formation in preseason and he's been on the bench.
We'll probably start something like this with 6'5" Manny Monthe there to stop any aerial balls to Akinde and to provide him with the obligatory penalty (or two).
B.Collins
Bennett...
Wouldn't say they were cheap. We spent circa £90k on the three of them all up, they weren't free transfers. But granted none of them are on big wages.
BTW my tip is for Bugiel to have a big season and take some of the pressure off Doidge in the goal scoring ranks.
Wow how naff. I hope he's trying to be ironic but as 95% of footballers wouldn't understand that word, I doubt it. Just sad.
Him in the video, not your comment.
To be fair to Kells, he would be the first to say that LB is not his best position, but he only got torn apart that one time by Andrade, other than that he was pretty solid in the position (but much better at LM) and actually a better defender than James Jennings who came in for him at LB the...
Two solid signings in Wedge and Sincs.
Wedge was the fittest player in our squad and a real "rat" in the midfield - tackled, tracked players, dropped into cover defence when backs pushed forward, broke up play for 90mins. Very much a holding DM but didn't create or score.
Sincs came to us as a...
