I'd have given him at least 10 games. That's when the league starts to take a bit more shape. We've also just picked up four points from our last two games, so the timing for me is odd. I agree that we would have been in the bottom third of the league, but far too early to say we're in serious...
Think Ricky doesn't have much time left at this level. When he signed for us he was hailed by some as the Messiah. In reality he looked slow and didn't fit into our system.
Not the worst striker we've had at the EBB (Shamir Mullings takes that crown) but overall a massive disappointment.
Personally I think we sacked Searle too soon. However a lot of fans wanted him out for a while now, so maybe that forced the chairman's hand.
Not overly keen on the appointment of Molesley as I would have preferred someone who has managed in this league before. I understand the logic of...
Fair to say that we are looking very light on talent at present. Hopefully Searle pulls his finger out and gets a few more players in before August 21st. Expect the team against Chesterfield to look like this;
GK: Mitch Walker
RWB: George Fowler
CB: Kodi Lyons-Foster
CB: Kevin Lokko
CB: Giles...
I think it's the immediate loan move to part time Arbroath that is surprising to Shots fans. However, looking at the big picture it's definitely a step up. In 6-12 months he could be playing in the SPL which is a very good standard.
Connor Shields couldn't hit a barn door for us, but then moved...
Not surprised to see Notts County & Stockport with the highest spends.
Expected Boreham Wood to be higher, and would be interested to see Bromley's figures. Both these clubs seem to consistently have very good squads in comparison to their club size, attendances etc.
Surprised Mulling's hasn't been investigated for match fixing yet, he's that bad. Most inept striker I've ever seen at the Shots and apart from a brief purple patch at Chelmsford, he's averaged 1 goal in 10 over an eight year career.
James Rowe was our Assistant Manager for a couple of years under Gary Waddock. Always came across well and liked football to be played on the deck. Happy to see him doing well.
Surprised he's been offered the job though, he hasn't been a Manager very long at all and given Chesterfield's...
It's pretty easy to tell which clubs are spending the most at this level. If you are signing decent players from other National League clubs and giving players two year deals, then you are probably at the top end budget wise.
Boreham Wood must be up there. Ashmore, Rhead, Francis-Angol, Corey...
On reflection, you're probably right as Pools could have been out of sight by HT. Frustrating though, as I felt the winner came out of nothing after a spell of pressure from us.
Good luck for the rest of the season.
Game of two halves. Hartlepool controlled the first, we had the better of the second. Think a point would have been fair, but we switched off at the end and allowed a free header for Pools to seal the points.
We definitely need to improve if we're going to avoid another dog fight this season.
At last, the natural order is returning. If this is true it makes a nice change from the likes of Boreham Wood and Bromley pinching our best players.
Not expecting miracles, but an exciting signing nonetheless.
Past his best but could be decent in the South. Won't get you loads of goals but his link up play is very good.
Thought we would sign Ellul as he's worked with Searle at Braintree. He looks a good signing for you.
Nice to see we've signed someone that is rated by their former club. Considering last season we only signed National League cast-offs. Another couple of signings like JSW and I might start dreaming of mid-table.
Crap from us today. Started well and played some lovely stuff but as soon as we went ahead we resorted to hoofball, which we don't have the players for.
County's defence won every header and most of the second balls too. I lost count of the amount of chances they created from our own goal...
Reece Grant doesn't seem to be featuring too much for you. Is he not rated by Taylor? Looking like an embarrassing decision to sell him now. Unless we got a big fee, which I doubt we did.
Hello all. Just popping in to let you know that all three of these players are terrible, with just one goal between them so far.
Connor Shields has also managed to miss two penalties. Super.
