Looks like Crewe are central to the plays offs conundrum. We play all 4 of the contenders for what, I guess, is 2 available slots. We need points to try to maintain an automatic promotion. Buckle up it’s going to be quite a ride!
Just got back from the long trip to the west.
Firstly massive credit to the Argyle ground staff for getting the match on. They had more people forking the pitch than I think the Alex employ in total! Unlike some other clubs (yes FGR I’m looking at you) they gave clear and regular info on the...
So it seems the Walsall game goes ahead? Players been paid? I’m with JJ I understand the players making a stand having been treated appallingly by their employer but do do we have any understanding of what has changed between last week and now?
Now is not the time to be indulging in navel gazing about the rights or wrongs of who may or may not get 3 points.
Now is the time to give support and sympathy to the fans and staff of Macc.
I understand that but the club didn’t say ‘subject to the refs decision’ or ‘the pitch can’t take much more rain’ did they? Just an hour before it was called off they clearly tweeted not inspection, pitch ok, game on.
Anyway that’s history. Hoping for a decent game tonight. I fear we will...
‘A bit better’! Not sure FGR could do a worse communications job than last time. Official tweet of ’pitch is good, games on, no inspection planned’ then an hour later ‘games off failed pitch inspection’
Thanks for the info. Fingers crossed I make it and it stops raining. Should be a decent game of football with both teams in decent form and trying to play the game in the right way.
Thanks for your honesty FGR Stroud. It’s not just FGR who treat away fans in a frankly appalling manner unfortunately but could you expand on the role of politics and the local council? Are you saying the council forced the club to put the away fans in a totally inadequate and uncovered part of...
On the train back north and reflecting on a cracking result. Harsh on Orient. The injury to Angol was probably pivotal as our defence was creaking throughout but without his presence Orient could only make it count when we gifted them an opportunity. I thought Orient played some decent football...
Sorry probably didn’t write very clearly. At Crewe away fans are always on the centreline. Both at Bradford and Mansfield we are behind the goal but unlike Grimsby, despite our poor attendance, we are put behind the goal and not pushed unnecessarily in the corner. Anyway enough of my rant...
I don’t accept you would have to open the whole of the stand. Just use netting to restrict the amount of seating available behind the goal. It’s not just Grimsby, a couple of years ago at Oldham we weren’t even inside the touch line ! MK Dons let home fans have a view of the pitch from the...
I agree with some of the posts above, Grimsby weren’t that bad yesterday. Even with our quality performance there was only a missed penalty dividing the teams (if you scratch the late goal due to Grimsby pushing forward to try and gain an equaliser)
I’m loving how Crewe are playing at the...
Some of the best football I’ve seen at Crewe since the days of Nick Powell. As has been said above it’s tough not to get carried away at the moment. If only we could put a few more of those chances away.
As expected good away support for Bradford but a disappointing reaction from their team who...
OMG Notts were poor today. Could have been 6 or 7 if Porter understood the offside rule and we’d taken a few more of our chances. Lowery deservedly MOTM. Well done to the away fans for turning out in good numbers, I can’t imagine how you feel if you’ve been watching those kind of performances...
