Whitehawk looked dreadful when they were at Coles Park the other week. They barely mustered a single chance. I was surprised to see them follow that up by getting a draw against Dorking and beating Kingstonian.
Of the relegation candidates, Harlow look to be the side doing things relegation...
Obviously the last couple of months have been beyond the wildest expectations of anyone connected with Haringey Borough (I was quietly confident we'd do alright at the start of the season, and worried about going down by mid-October).
But it's a little bit frustrating to have picked up 40 of...
Last two months have seen Boro on a ludicrous run - now ten on the spin.
Apart from Dorking, who've really gone off the boil, no-one's really looked like beating us in that time. How long we can keep it up, I don't know.
It's a good question.
I can see why Walsall wanted Keates and I can see why Keates wanted Walsall. The Shrewsbury/Ricketts thing is a mystery to me though (we also "lost" Gary Mills to York - we only sacked him after they tapped him up lol).
From what I can glean, we're paying our managers...
Weird game - thought K's looked the most dangerous before Boro scored - our goal was one of two clear chances for us in the first half. After the second or third went in (which was a goalkeeping error), K's really went to pieces - but up until then we were just more clinical. Still got a...
Not having this informed discussion based on sound knowledge and reasonable deductions. Dorking have bought the league and at least one of their weekly training sessions involves chasing foxes through the Surrey countryside and ripping them apart with their teeth while burning £20 notes. Fact.
Watched Boro host Champions Elect, Big Spending* Dorking tonight.
For the opening half hour, Dorking looked like a Bostik Barcelona, pulling us this way and that and breaking down our defence at will and they raced into a two goal lead. After about half an hour, they seemed to decide that the...
Can't wait to watch pissed up hooligans attempt to fight one another while barely able to stand live on BT Sport (and also a football game if we're lucky).
Watched high-flying Enfield grind out a point at home to lowly Haringey Borough in an entertaining Great Cambridge Road Derby.
Boro should have had enough to nick it, especially after Enfield's number six took a straight red card to prevent Boro from scoring a winner. Former Enfield Town...
Haringey Borough play in Wood Green, not Harringay - which is about 2.5 miles down the road.
Harringay Stadium was demolished a year before I was born and is now a Sainsburys.
Boro were unlucky not to beat Bognor - the front three of Nouble, Akinwande and McKenzie look very sharp. Akinwande's goal was fantastic. The equaliser Haringey conceded was soft, and we missed what really were straightforward chances to win the game.
Nothing to fear in this league.
Hornchurch benefit from geography this season - there's hardly any Isthmian Premier competition out of London from the East, so when East London/Essex-based players don't fancy commuting across the country every week, they could well end up at Hornchurch.
Can see Bishops Stortford benefiting...
Given the decrease in standard of the league this season and the departure of last season's contenders, I'd consider lumping on any relegated side to bounce straight back up.
It's Joan Luque not Juan (he's Catalan).
He's a horrible bastard. Banned for 9 games for spitting twice at Ralston Gabriel last season (Gabriel was banned for 8 games rightly decking the little shit).
He failed to get on the scoresheet in any of the four games we played against Heybridge...
IMO, they should have the super playoff, then have a playoff between the super playoff loser and the fourth from bottom team in the National North/South.
Yeah, bring on the Super Playoffs.
