New official thread for it.

The basic idea is that every sends in a list of their 20 favourite albums. They're pitted against each other in groups of 5 where the highest scoring album goes through. We do this until we've whittled the total down to 24 and then use the same format as this Summer's Euros.

I've limited the number of applicants to 25 so we can have a maximum of 500 albums. I've already had 17 people send their lists in:

A 68th poll will determine the last few teams to get into the last 64.

Do they need to be ordered or is it just a list of 20? Thinking you may want them ordered for seeding purposes. We don't want the big guns of Chas n Dave being up against the Smurfs in the group stages, it'd make a mockery of the whole thing.

As for the (eventual) group stage, I'd hope all the songs are there on merit so wouldn't need seeding anyway.

Yeah. Because the number of albums would be uneven, the highest placed second sides would go through etc.

Deadlines a bit tight but I'll try to get a list in tomorrow. I assume this needs to be full artist albums and that mix albums won't be accepted? Unlikely to put any in but just so I know.

Does the order matter in this format ? If not that will make my list easier.

Order isn't important.

In terms of mixes, I'd say 1, possibly 2 are ok but try and make it as artist-based as possible.

Seeing as this new format is working better, decided to keep it.
