You're absolutely right he hasn't played for yonks! Should have been from Bradford (Park Avenue) where he was the club's academy manager. He's now joint manager at Stafford Rangers. I'm unsure if he's registered to play for them?

I think they just have some well-off directors, and they built up a strong local following (and £200k+) from a recent FA Cup run.

They've got a few of our ex players, Jack Mackreth, Shaun Beeley and Steve Jennings, none of whom will be cheap and should really be in the Conference North at least.
