He’s similar to shola ameobi in style and I can see the geordies taking an interest
Some journalists obviously read this board as it’s now being reported that Newcastle are interested!

Seems fanciful. The local paper is reporting his contract is up at the end of the season which as we never release such information seems like they’ve made up.

According to the EFL statement enhanced covid protocols going to be out in place at training grounds etc. More postponed matches today with Cardiff/Derby, Stoke/Coventry also off as of today.

25% of players apparently don’t intend to be vaccinated at all which seems totally mad to me, but probably not the right place to open that particular “debate.”
Was reading a quote from Klopp at Liverpool where he said that ALL of his players were double jabbed and many boosted as well. Seeing as how they are beating just about everyone they play, clearly the jabs haven't done any damage to them. Perhaps the idiots at other clubs who believe all of the bullsh1t should take a look at Liverpool, instead of searching out and swallowing conspiracy theories.

I still can't believe that clubs/managers aren't being a bit more insistent about their players getting jabbed. Players are no use to them if they are unavailable following positive tests.

Utter nonsense, both re the contract and re Newcastle being interested. He is nowhere near that standard yet, and we certainly would not have paid what we paid and only give an 18 month contract.

Heilik should have been off for Barnsley then, high foot not in control, Hugill could have quite easily had a broken leg there.

Barnsley have defended well but West Brom don't look like a side destined for automatics. Having 5 ex-PNE players won't help.

No WBA do seem to struggle to score goals compared to Fulham and Bournemouth but guess they will say they are still 3rd.

What did we pay?

I think the fact we paid anything at all mid covid would probably indicate we wouldn’t give an 18 month contract but was apparently 250k. NJ almost let it slip in one of his post game interviews where he was comparing him to a striker who cost 25 million (Solanke at Bournemouth)

He looked like he almost did it again in the Fulham interview, with the Mitrovic comparision, then he recovered to the funny billion and a billionth comment.......I like his humour when he lets it out

I watched the Barnsley WBA game. Thank god i was playing poker at the same time, as it was hard work. Turgid.

What a diff for Barnsley who were so exciting last season and what a dissapointment WBA look.

They seemed to start the season hot West Brom and have tailed off a bit. A clear step below Fulham and Bournemouth from what i have seen but probably "best of the rest"

Not on that showing. Plenty better, including us. Guess the Golden Shower looked like that for spells last season and got there in the end too. Bournemouth wobbling as well. Fulham not won in four or so.

None of them stretching the others

Why is it just professional English games are getting postponed? FA Trophy, Scotland, Europe - full schedules barr a couple?

Doesnt seem a balanced and a correct proportional representation unless Omicron has mutated to only infect professional footballers.

Does seem ood.

Either they aren't testing or have more vaccinated/better restrictions in place?

Also maybe in non-league happy to take a risk as games will be called off due to the weather at some point this winter.

Guessing the professional clubs are actually testing, and I’m sure I read recently that the amount of testing clubs are doing has gone up recently? As for europe, we seem to be ahead of the curve with omicron cases. I think it’s coming for europe and everyone else soon enough.

It feels more rampant than ever before at the moment, know so many people testing positive. I also tested positive yesterday so that Christmas wiped for me.

Mild so far so let’s hope everyone has a similar experience!

As well as what SF mentions about Bristol city, seems like they have big ambitions but don’t seem to be able to break through the lower mid table ceiling (or win much at home!). Peterborough lose another important game against Blackpool in a battle of newly promoted sides. Lost 14 games so far the most of any side, not really made much of a fist of it so far.

After Bowuer got some lavish praise earlier in the season Birmingham City have tailed off too with another heavy defeat today.

So unless the individual clubs decide to cancel them, are the Boxing Day games expected to go ahead?

Think so.

Games at Cardiff and Barnsley off already.

Fulham lose at home to Sheffield United.

Certainly being pulled back into the pack.

Two games in a two off for us thanks to the opposition, with zero Covid cases of our own reported, fantastic. Love having our season derailed by something we have no control over.

To be fair it’s everyone’s seasons getting derailed through no fault of their own. Can’t really blame clubs for getting covid cases when the running rate is 90k new infections a day.

They might have to extend the season.

Worse time of the year for this to break out given clubs play 3/4 times in a week.

They don’t want to extend the season… they are insistent in this long gap for the play offs in May. Even next season with the World Cup they are still going to end the same weekend, albeit a week earlier start.

Our game is off, we've got a bunch of cases, West Brom away on the 30th also very unlikely.
