Just had a look at the ticket sales for this. Before today tickets had only been available to members and season ticket holders. Plymouth fans could buy up to 6 tickets per member and Bolton up to 2per member, Bolton were ahead 28.000 to 26.000. But today when they have gone on general sale Plymouth have streaked ahead. So all the part time bandwagoner casual fans who probably can't name a player have come out in their droves at Plymouth. We won't have as many Wembley day trippers as them. The glory hunters in Bolton support Man United, they sit in the pubs at 3 o clock on a Saturday with a falling to pieces red shirt on with Sharp on the front. The last thing they would do would support their home town club.
Don’t worry, the glory hunters in Plymouth support Man United too!

none of them are travelling though the towns full of them.....We will have fans who are going but they are Bolton through and through
Fans who have been 20/30 games in the 25 years we have been in our stadium who vowed never to travel to the Reebok
Work commitments for a few....Family for others. What i guarantee is they are not Man Utd supporters...........30K plus as of today....Fucking brilliant effort

Yeah sorry but it’s not ok to go to the final. I vowed I wouldn’t go if we got there even if we were playing another non B team and I stand by that. Don’t get me wrong, my resolve would be tested but I’d rather cut my nose off to spite my face than go to that.

Not in the slightest......Got mates who this applies to do i knock them certainly not.....The pandemic hit and it got easy to watch games on the telly.
We have moved ground i lived about 2 mile from Burnden its now a 10 mile trip.
We kicked off at 8pm for night matches for over 20 years......Fans with kids were not getting home from midweek matches until 11pm . Work/School Pandemic and the crash of 2008 have stopped plenty from attending down the years...........applies to every team
These are still fans and if they cherry pick games they attend thats fine by me.

I have stated on here i no longer attend away games.....One person seems to mock that you you fucking muppet
I have a good life away from football i have 3/4 holidays abroad every year and like to go horse racing [been to Cheltenham all week] Going to the Johnny rocks stadium on a Wed night no longer gets my blood flowing.
Only time i see you message is when you are dick waving about how many you have brought away or giving fans from clubs like mine Derby and Port Vale shit because you once got banged on the nose from said fans.

You like to tell everyone your a accountant.......You certainly are a anagram of such

I've never been banged at any of those places.

I message in Match threads most weeks....

I don't mock you for not attending I mock you cos you talk absolute shite. I pick and choose games nowadays too, off to Oxford and the Lincoln and Derby home games, tempted for Burton.

I’m sure it’ll be a good day out for those going. I’d have gone with my dad for a good day out but he can’t go so I’ll be watching it in the pub.

Looks like it’s on for 70k in the crowd

70k is not good we so needed 2 tiny clubs with a crowd of 6k.
Or 2 b teams infront or a few hundred.
This makes people think the trophy is loved and important. Reality is it is not - it’s just a great day out at Wembley for 2 well supported league 1 teams.

Its so frustrating to be apart of this fugazi of a cup final. I think I read yesterday that we have sold more tickets than what we did for the LG2 play off final. Embarrassing

I know we are riding a wave at the minute and we may gain a few extra thousand floating supporters but I really do feel like this is potentially the worst thing to happen to us this season, promotion or not.

The local journalist at the Bolton News reckons this will be the biggest single amount of Bolton fans(not including away fans) at any one match since 1977 when we played Everton at Burnden Park in front of over 50.000 in a League Cup semi (which we lost btw). Mind you half his article isn't the most accurate. We have sold 34.000. Plymouth have sold 38.000 which is probably their biggest following at a match ever, Who would have known they had that many hardcore fans !

Day out for the whole of Devon who don’t normally get to see a Wembley final.

Bolton meanwhile are surrounded by clubs around the extended boundaries of Lancashire who between them make yearly trips to Wembley.

That said, a 75,000 crowd is a cracking effort for a 3rd tier tie.

By that, I mean football fans based in Devon whose affiliation is with other clubs (likely big four) whose chances of going to Wembley to watch said team are non-existent because they don’t usually go to games.

For example, on social media yesterday, I spotted a Devon based Man Utd fan who was going with his son for the day to watch Plymouth.

Really? How many times has a Devon side been to Wembley (with fans) in the last 5 years?

75000 at Wembley is fantastic. 2 very well supported clubs.
It’s just a shame that the proprietary owners of this charade of a competition will be patting themselves on the back how great it is completely forgetting the sub 1000 gates that were prevalent in most games.
It should have been Bournemouth under 21s versus Leicester under 21s infront of 700 people.
Enjoy your day out - may the best team win.

The problem is that two of the biggest League One clubs, with big fan bases (in one case in particular, with loyal supporters living across the country) fighting it out is exactly what this cup is supposed to be about....

Please let it be Harrogate v Burnley Under 21s next year

Don't let anyone knock a day out at Wembley whatever cup it is. The year we played Sunderland was a fantastic day out. Gutted were not going again this year.

A day out at Wembley is still pretty shit though.
We have won twice at the new Wembley, yet Cardiff was still the best day out where we lost v Donny in the JPT final.

I enjoyed the PO Final last season but then it was a rarity for us to get to Wembley (first time at the new one for Vale all be it I’ve been loads watching England).

We won the then LDV at Cardiff but it pissed it down so wasn’t overly great!

Good luck to both sides tomorrow, it’s a chance of silverware regardless and a day out.

Hard to call this final.

That’s the way I see it, happy to call myself contradicting when I wouldn’t even check the score after our group games, but Argyle never play in cup finals, it’ll be a good day with L1 taking over Wembley, and won’t directly influence the rest of our season.

If we win I think the momentum will carry us to the Championship.

Looks like Evatt's winning the second biggest trophy of his managerial career.

Confidence thing I guess, at least I hope it is, as that will do this team wonders after the last few results
