I agree it's bananas, but the government gave everyone the go ahead to play, it's the half cooked mush brains at the EFL/PL who've pulled it.

Is it not an FA directive? The FA statement said all football was postponed, including women's football, non-league football, grassroots football etc.

Wrong decision, haven't we had enough feckin lockdown. But I'm a conspiracy theorist on this - sporting bodies were free to choose what they did, but behind the scenes the FA were told to pull all fixtures due police resourcing, they have a huge operation to plan and resource for the funeral. 700k football fans moving around the country, packing pubs etc is alot different to 6 professional rugby fixtures with 10-15k crowds.

I had a ticket for the Oval yesterday, will get a refund and fair play to LNER who are refunding advance tickets but hacked of I can't go to GY today instead.

Also just seen that it says no fancy dress permitted at the Oval today - that's ridiculous...

In the only game of the day on this forum, 2,500 paying 2 quid a ticket in a soulless bowl that would make Glandford Park look like the home of football, Ettifaq ran out deserved 3-0 winners over Hafar Batin.

Important win for the home side who traditionally feature around the bottom of the league as Hafar Batin just got promoted and are a likely bottom 3 rival. If that's the standard of the worst sides, Ettifaq will be fine as Hafar Batin were absolutely rotten, so bad were they that their fans have taken to twitter asking for Allah's intervention to stop relegation. They were that bereft of confidence and ability that I can't blame them for taking a total of 7 away fans for the Eastern Province Derby that sees the teams 432km from each other.

Sutton fans won't approve but there was actually an atmosphere. Drums and music throughout with fully veiled women abandoning their gloves in the family section to cheer the boys in green. Shame you couldn't drink anything, not even water in the stands (36 degrees as well) as the neo-nazi Niqabi women acting as stewards confiscated everything, I was even told to put me vape back in my car parked in the underground multistory ( I then turned away, walked a few metres and just shoved it somewhere that wouldn't get frisked, no not there..). Who said it was a good idea for women to actually have jobs?

Half time was a highlight as outside the ground was everything you could possibly wish for pre and post match. Perfume stalls, bouncy castle, fishing, fresh fruit juice with diabetic levels of sugar and pre match scran of a slimey Omani dessert. There was also a lego station and a massive cinema TV that the Saudi yoof were playing FIFA 22 on.

We've bookmarked the next visit for champions Al Hilal's trip in November when the weather gets better. I will get to see Odion Ighalo and ex Porto striker Moussa Marega in the flesh. Maybe even Mark Clatenburg will ref it. Maybe L2 will have restarted by then?

As I said further up the police resourcing reason is absolute bollocks. London has huge events every weekend and the football doesn't get cancelled. We're talking about a city that is rammed with tourists every single day of the year. They have the police resources. Outside of London, it's not relevant at all.

For me, this is about nothing other than the footballing authorities dropping a massive clanger. The government did the right thing and gave them enough time to act and they made the wrong choice.

With tributes and mark of respects taking place so the excuse fans might not be quiet or adhere to the minute silence etc wasn’t right.
