Can someone explain how the alerts work on here? I see you get alerts for when someone likes or quotes your post, or when someone posts on a thread you've posted on. Yet in the latter case I frequently see posts that didn't show up in my alerts, even when I've been logged on and online all the time.

I suppose having fewer alerts is better than having too many, but I'm just curious as to the logic behind them.

You can "Watch Threads" which means that whenever anyone posts in them you get an alert. Whenever you post in a thread, it automatically becomes "watched". You can turn these alerts off in your settings, and then you only get alerts for likes and quotes.

But then how come not all the posts get alerted after I've posted in the thread in question? Not that I'm complaining mind, because like I said, having an alert for every new post would make things a bit of a pain to keep track of.

If you receive an alert but don't look in the thread you won't receive another alert for that thread until you do so. No idea if that info helps or not
