As we say goodbye to 2021 what was the best or funniest memory you have from a game involving your team this year?

For me it has to be Ryan Broom’s sub-aqua goal against Bolton. It has it all. A comedy howler by the goalie, a striker being tackled by the centre spot, another striker missing a sitter, the strop from the first player to miss, the unique swimming celebration of the goal scorer and another player sliding fifteen yards head first into the corner flag. Hard to beat, or is it…

The 4-0 win in a biblical flood versus Sunderland. Particularly when the clock hit 80 minutes and we realised that the ref was actually going to let the game finish.

The pitch had been unplayable since around minute 30. Like a weird game of water polo where use of the hands is banned.

The first time we were allowed fans back, only 2000 but it was a great occasion and a 90th minute winner from Ryan Wintle vs Northampton made it even sweeter.

The PO Final for us, but an honourable mention to the non-penalty against us at Posh, which you still have to laugh at.

Can’t trump that. It was keystone cops. I love watching that clip, it’s pure comedy gold.

Battering Bolton in their own backyard. Also beating Rotherham with a 95th minute goal in our first home match with fans back. That was special!

Probably winning the Pizza Cup as sad as that sounds. Even though in reality we did narrowly beat a League Two team in possibly the worst competition the club has ever won, even below the Albufeira Cup. It was a cathartic moment for a fanbase at that point not seen a Sunderland win at Wembley in 7 consecutive games - a fanbase that couldn't even attend which made it also bittersweet.

Going from 20th at beginning of February to 3rd for promotion, has to be our highlight. That run we went on was amazing. 11 wins and 2 draws in 13 games. The win that really got us going was Mansfield away. 2-0 down after about 80 mins and we won 3-2.
