Sea-Sea-Seasiders!

Well thanks to an extraordinary set of results last weekend, we somehow find ourselves top of the league again, all be it by the slightest of margins with the top end of the Championship tighter than ever. Last Friday night saw Bournemouth back in our pomp as we demolished Fulham at their place, the sort of performance we hadn't put in for a while. Very encouraging yes, but it's a 10 match straight shootout now between 5,6, or 7 clubs and the pressure is on!

We almost have a 100% clean and fit squad to choose from...except Harry Arter is suspended for this game due to some kind of tunnel incident that the FA haven't deemed interesting enough to make public, apparently during/after our match at Brentford a few weeks back. A bit odd. So that's a bit of a blow because he's our best central midfielder who sets the tempo. But Howe has options to replace him with.

Blackpool's issues need little introduction, although it's interesting that Clarke has gone public saying that they're down now and that it's all about pride. Perhaps it'll take the pressure off a tad. Clarke has suffered several trouncings at the hands of Howe and I'm sure he'll be desperate to keep it tight here. I expect Blackpool to make it as frustrating and difficult as possible sitting deep. We aren't always very good against sides who sit and frustrate, and for me it'll be important to get an early goal. If we get to half time without scoring, hear other scorelines coming in, I think we'll start to over-think things and then anything could happen.

Very sorry that Miles Addison can't play for them! I gather he's been playing in a defensive midfield role for Blackpool recently?!

All sold out as you'd expect, with the club able to cram a few hundred extra home seats than normal in one section of the away end not taken up. Not sure how the logistics of the facilities will work, they can't be sharing? Will be interesting to see..

Home banker. All the more reason why we simply cannot lose to Boro. If we do, we're fighting for just one place going into the last 9

4-0

8-1 Bournemouth.

You are so lucky that you have a fully fit squad. That will probably see you over the line.

.

I must've missed this. :fl:

Can't believe he's getting a game at this level still.

Yeah I'll be there as ever. I do reckon the traveling Blackpool fans deserve a pint each or something having come the distance after the season they're having. Shame the only pint they'll be able to get from the club concourse is bloody Fosters. Urrggh.

Pitman first half hatrick, Blackpool sound woeful.

To think some of our fans still claim Pitman isn't good enough for the Championship. Still the best finisher we have

Half hour hatrick for Pitman! Another for Wilson incorrectly ruled out for offside, for my money

Weird weird game, Blackpool have no confidence to do anything more than put the ball out for throws.

Second half was nothing really. Job done hopefully without any knocks and with the important Arter to come back into midfield and Kermorgant up front fresh on Tuesday.

Pretty poor from Bournemouth really, can't see them going up now.

Wondering how Jacobs did on Saturday for Blackpool. Any good? (Obviously, given it's Blackpool, the term "good" is being used in the loosest sense).

I mean, did he play well or did he look like he was only playing because someone had kidnapped his family and were forcing him to play, like the rest of Blackpool's team?

I think this effectively extinguishes Blackpool's play-off hopes too, to be fair. It would require a statistical miracle and seven clubs to go into administration for them to sneak it now.
