Monday night football is weird.
Mike Dean is the worst possible referee we could have, the utter cretin.
Apparently we're struggling for fit full backs currently, which isn't ideal going into a game involving Zaha, although he seems to have wildly erratic performances against us so let's hope for one of his quieter days.
The dramatic cup win against Blackburn was a good start in putting that shambles up at Burnley behind us, ideally we can get something here and keep our decent league position ticking away. A successive league defeat would be throwing away our momentum, with that tough game up at Watford to come next week. So it's important we turn up. But with Dean in the middle, absolutely anything could happen.
You could say that! Whilst it's unfair to say that every game we have him for is a controversial disaster, certainly a disproportionate number of them are, with most of the most memorable controversies (as we would see them) in recent years resulting from him. Which is why he will get stick from the crowd before the game even kicks off tonight. Not that that's a particularly good idea, abusing the ref before he's even done anything. But there we go.
Add the recent publicity with Zaha, it should be interesting...
In none of our previous PL seasons do we edge that game. Just something a little extra about us currently, on the whole. Brooks and Lerma definitely part of that, they are slick in midfield. Always finding time. Great buys both.
Really not much between those two tonight but we forced the issue eventually. We can do better! But 7th right now!
Was busy so only really drifting in and out of watching this game, but from what I could tell David Brooks is the boy and everyone else (including Zaha) is a joke (including Mike Dean).
