Brighton got off to an almost great start after Andrew Crofts hit the post to get the Sky Bet Championship encounter at Griffin Park flowing.

Then Lewis Dunk fouled Andre Gray in the 10th minute and was lucky not too see red. Moses Odubajo crept in behind Brighton left back Joe Bennett and slotted past David Stockdale after 17 minutes to make it 1-0 to the bees.

Brighton could have gone level straight after when Sam Baldock's shot was cleared off the line by the defender.

But instead it went the other way after Alex Pritchard did some hard work an squared it for Andre Gray to slot in after 32 mins to double the deficit.

8 minutes later Brighton captain Gordon Greer popped up with a tap in from a corner to make it 2-1 at half time.

Brighton decided to replace the yellow carded defender Lewis Dunk with the experiences Aaron Hughes but not all went to plan after it was made 3-1 by Jonathan Douglas who headed in from close range on the 54th minute.

Danny Holla's fantastic goal pulled one back for the Albion after 60 minutes but there dominance in the latter stages wasn't enough as Brentford held on to all 3 points.

David Stockdale did find himself in the Brentford box in the 93rd minute but smashed a volley over the top to keep Brighton on 7 points from 6 games into the new season with things needing to improve.

Key man: Moses Odubajo
