robbed from SS
Scott Hogan is in contention to play for Brentford in Tuesday night's Sky Bet Championship clash at home to Aston Villa - live on Sky Sports 1 HD and Sky Sports Mix from 7.30pm - after featuring for the first time in almost four weeks against Chelsea.
The 24-year-old striker came off the substitutes' bench in Saturday's FA Cup loss and will again be in the squad, unless a suitor matches the Bees' £15m valuation.
Winger Florian Jozefzoon, who last Friday signed until the end of the season from PSV Eindhoven, has received international clearance and could make his debut.
Bees head coach Dean Smith has no fresh injuries.
Villa boss Steve Bruce faces a number of decisions over his midfield, with three new signings in contention.
Former Nottingham Forest man Henri Lansbury made his debut in the 2-2 draw with Preston last time out and will hope to retain his place in the starting line-up.
He could be joined by Barnsley old-boy Conor Hourihane and Birkir Bjarnason, who has joined the club from Swiss side FC Basle, with Bruce revealing all three men could be involved.
However, fellow midfielder Mile Jedinak is likely to miss out once again with a groin problem, although he could be fit for Saturday's trip to Forest.

Opta stats
Brentford have never beaten Aston Villa in nine previous games in all competitions (D3 L6).
This is the first league meeting between these sides at Griffin Park since February 1947 - Aston Villa won 2-0 that day.
The Bees have won just one of their last eight home league games (D3 L4).
Aston Villa have lost four of their last five away league games (W1), failing to score in each defeat.

Prutton's predictions
It's a tough one to predict, this. From Villa's point of view, they've struggled over the last few games after a very good start under Steve Bruce. They've levelled out a bit.

Brentford are a mixed bag; I've seen them at home when they've dominated teams, I've also seen them at home when they've ground out a result, and I've seen them at home when they've been dominated, like the Fulham game.
If Scott Hogan goes, Brentford are going to be in a position where they will struggle to get something other than consolidation. The players Dean Smith have brought in have done well, and they've kept their head above water, but they've been awfully inconsistent. I'm going for a draw.

PRUTTON PREDICTS: 1-1

Not anymore!

For the record... 2-1 to us. Kodjia with both.

I reckon 2-0 Villa, we've been shocking of late but hopefully the incoming transfers today (if they happen) and a switch back to 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 will do the trick for the rest of the season.

Villa are horrendous, the defending in L1 is better than what they've showcased tonight.

Amazing performance by us tonight - I know injuries have forced us to change the team around a bit, but tonight showed just how good we can be when playing 4-5-1. Jozefzoon looked like a decent little player, great to see Jota back in the team, he's not what he was but still a great footballer. Need to get those two signed up to a new long term deal quickly.

Still think we lack a midfield enforcer, and a striker (Vibe was great today, but most of the time he's nowhere near as good) but tonight was incredibly promising.

Really hoping Judge has a change of heart and stays, perhaps now with the Hogan money we can afford to pay him what he wants & deserves.

That's 6 without a win now, getting as bad as Di Matteo was (and Zola).

Bruce on borrowed time?

I wouldn't say so mate no. A few of our fans are saying fuck him off but that's a natural response from football fans. We were grinding results out with him at the start which was great but we have gone downhill big time.lets be honest we are fucking awful and will be midtable at best. I would say the fanbase are still with him because most knew it would be tough to go up this season with all the work that needs doing at the club. Next season is the big one. Fuck that up and then I will be worried. Fair play to Brentford tonight.

Huge hit to confidence tonight. Could be a very long hard season. Worst team away from home in the country? I'm not happy at all with this season, it's been utter shite from start to finish apart from the odd game. We still have huge problems within the dressing room.

Well that was fun.

Could have easily been more for Brentford, that is genuinely the worst I've seen us perform since the 6-0 thrashing from Liverpool last season. Shocking how much we miss Jedinak.

I disagree regarding Jota - was back to his best tonight. Totally enigmatic.

Jota tore us to shreds. Brilliant player if he continues to play like that.
