Friday night on the box if you're interested. Unfortunately I can't make the game and I don't think I'll have access to Sky to watch it either. Nervously checking my phone it is then.
Usually a tight and tense fixture this, us and Brighton have played each other many, many times down the years and there's never much between us. It's also a fixture that's been on Sky several times down the years and they've usually been a draw as I recall.
Brighton are safe now although perhaps want another point or three to be sure. They also have a rebuilding job to do ahead of next season and Hughton seems to be chopping and changing a bit trying things out from what I can tell. They may have had a quiet season, but they have some players I like. Rohan Ince, and Teixeria in midfield are handy. Lua Lua is a wild card in attack as well.
Brighton would absolutely hate to lose to us on their own shiny patch, especially if it gives us a step towards possible promotion. They're going to be up for it, so we need to be at our best. Certainly better than we were in the first half on Monday. We were pretty clueless and were undone by a mixture of organised high tempo pressing and fairly simple balls over the top to the big man. Our former Brighton lads at the back, Tommy Elphick and Steve Cook, need to be more switched on. As does calamity Boruc in goal, the big Polish nutcase. Brighton aren't scoring a huge amount at the moment but their centre backs pose a threat at set pieces.
In attack we're missing Marc Pugh at the moment who has an ankle knock. Either Ryan Fraser or Adam Smith will come in. I'd prefer Smith myself, as being a full back originally he's a bit more possession conscious, protects the flank better and is a bit stronger. To provide the damage it'll be Wilson and Kermorgant up front to start with and Jones to come on second half.
