Teams-
Cardiff- Marshall, Connolly, Manga, Morrison, Peltier, Noone, Gunnarsson, Whittingham, Kennedy, Doyle, Jones.
Wolves- Kuszczak, Iorfa, Batth, Stearman, Hause, McDonald, Price, van La Parra, Edwards, Sako, Afobe.
Wolves beat Cardiff 1-0 in the Welsh capital, becoming the only team to beat the Bluebirds in Febuary. However the scoreline doesn't quite reflect the game itself.
Cardiff started the game brighter than the away side, but didn't threaten Kuszczak's goal at all. The deadlock was broken after 23 minutes, when Whittingham's free kick was cleared away, Wolves broke with Van la Parra, who beat his man before setting up Sako, who fired home from the edge of the box. City almost equalized before half time, when Aron Gunnarsson headed over the bar from inside the box.
After the break, Wolves almost doubled their advantage. Aron Gunnarsson's pass was mis-controlled by Sean Morrison, and Afobe was on hand to punish him, until Marshall threw a hand towards the ball and kept the score at 1-0. Wolves were lucky to have all 11 men still on the pitch when Iorfa who had already been booked, brought down Noone, but was given a final warning before being substituted a minute later. However Cardiff were reduced to 10 men just moments later, when Peter Whittingham chopped down the Wolves right back in a similar manner to what Iorfa had done, but was given a second yellow card and ordered to leave the pitch, much to the Cardiff fans displeasure. City seemed to play better after the red card and continued to create chances. Jones had two chances to steal a point, firstly nodding Gunnarsson's cross just wide of the post, and again in the dying seconds of the game, when his header was cleared off the line by Stearman.
This defeat saw Cardiff drop to 15th in the table, and will play Rotherham away on Tuesday night, a game we really should be winning. Wolves stayed in 8th spot and will play Bournemouth away on Tuesday night, hoping to claim any points from the currently out of form side.
