Oxford will be looking to confirm their place in League One next season, whilst we'll be playing for pride*. I can't see many, if any, fringe players getting a run-out considering Curle has already said he's decide who to release/retain. Hopefully we give them a tough game and end the season on a positive note with a good result

*whatever pride our club has left, it's been shambolic all season, and this latest debacle just about tops it off:

Oxford have sold 1500+ so far, good effort but it's to be expected.

Don't care how, but desperate for a win, have a feeling one of the other 2 will slip up so really need to take the opportunity

The way our club is run is shambolic and Andy Bellend needs to resign after his disgusting tweets.

We're a shadow of the side that came to the Kassam in December.

I think Oxford will win this by a couple of goals.

Strangely confident about this one, should have enough quality to get the right result. Hope the players turn up because the fans certainly will, would hope to hit 2k.

Like Carlisle as a club and it's unfortunate that the odd fan and boardmember has let them down this year. Here's hoping a win and ensuing party pumps a load of money into the local economy still feeling the affects of the flood. Plenty of us making a weekend of it.

3-1 Oxford.

Genuinely embarrassed at what's happened with regard to the Hillsborough tweets over the last few days, even more so than after the Everton racism complaints. I sincerely hope we lose this.

Carlisle 0 - 10 Oxford

It's a shame for Curle, his coaching staff and the players as they've had a decent season producing some memorable moments. It's those at the top of the club who've been a constant embarrassment in the press (bar the racism incident, of course).

I hate it when opposition fans don't rate their chances...

I am travelling for this one so hope it's worthwhile!

I wouldn't go so far as to hope we lose, we're bigger as a club than Andy Bell, who after all is just in an honorary position, and one of a number of VPs, the media coverage has made it look like the comment came from someone integral to the running of the club, which isn't true. It's been a bad season all-in-all PR-wise though, and sad that the number of individuals actually involved in dragging the club's name into the mud can be counted on one hand.

Very nice of you to talk positively about our club, unlike that cocky little Oxford fan that posts on here who is arrogant towards northerners. What's his name? Tinpot? I wish he would show a bit more respect to us or at least recognise that our club does exist.

I know it sounds sad but I actually wouldn't mind Oxford beating us if it can stop Accrington from going up, too many southern clubs down here and you are supposedly the best footballing side in the division and we've got nothing to play for.

I think Oxford would cope better in League One than any of the other teams around them.

The only thing our owners are good at is not talking to anyone and hiding away. Cowards.

Heh and it actually works for them. :hb:

This whole Hillsborough tweet thing will be swept under the carpet and be forgotten about like every other stupid thing they've done.

Whatever happens tomorrow I'd just like to wish Oxford United the best of luck in the rest of their promotion campaign, and hopefully defeat to us doesn't dent their chances too much. To lose one forum member in a season is tragic but to lose two leaves a huge hole. Sergei was one of the more active posters here and to have that level of dedication to a club at this level is rare, we may all have our differences down here from time to time (carver, tinpot) bit whatever gets said in the heat of battle, we are all United in following the clubs at the less fashionable end of the football spectrum that make up the 92. This makes us all, and Sergei more than most given the support he gave to this forum, essential components in a larger whole. Having 92 clubs (and more) with such fervent support is what makes this sport in this country so unique. So well done Sergei for being one of the more dedicated of those.

I thought that was a decent, entertaining game. Oxford deserved the win but I thought we had chances at 1-0 to equalise. They were a solid team and looked comfortable on the ball, even without Roofe. We were denied a stonewall penalty in my opinion, yes he was only a couple yards away but his arm was so far away from his body.

Joyce is still utter shite, Brough was non-existent and Ellis looked uncomfortable on the ball which is understandable. I wouldn't mind having Stacey back next season.

Joyce wasn't that bad. Comley was truly woeful first half, not surprised he was taken off at HT

It was back to the 3-3-4 formation from the start of the season. It didn't half leave us wide open first half, Oxford looked so dangerous on the break, they could have been out of sight by half time if they had a better final ball and made better decisions. Very wasteful.

No complaints, the better team won. It just shows how shitr we've got since the last time the 2 teams met.

I see some of our fans in the Paddock were protesting in front of the directors box and one fan was even removed.

This is good, we need protests like this to happen more and more to get at the owners!

Tried to climb into the directors box, which was amusing to behold. Lummy pulled no punches when giving his assessment of the situation on BBCRC. Roll on next season (and Notts County) if we can find some new investment, and more importantly, new ideas in the boardroom then we can hopefully mount a real promotion push next season. We do still have the Potts and Dempsey money, as well as the money we earned from our cup runs this season. Our most vital asset now is Lee Dykes, hopefully he'll turn up sooner real germs. In Curle we trust.

I think our team is missing some real quality at present, 2 or 3 high standard signings would give us a shot at promotion next season. League 2 has the potential to be a lot weaker next season, a great chance for anyone to achieve promotion.

I was impressed with Dunkley in defence for Oxford, a big presence all match.

Dunkley has gone from being very shaky, to undroppable, still makes a few errors, but he's an absolute monster and if he keeps improving I think there's a good chance clubs higher up start looking at him

I worry that we'll sign not one single quality player, what good players would want to play for us the way our club is run at the top?

Our owner is a stubborn old git who thinks he's Mr Carlisle United, yet whenever he's been left in charge of the club over the years we've struggled massively and been very unambitious.

People would say "Oh look at all what he's done for our club", well what has he done exactly? Just because he's been a board member since 19 digity dix doesn't make him some great chairman.

Players don't care how the club is run, if you make them the right offer they will come. They want money and a shot at glory, we can probably offer that.
