Wednesday Villa and Derby Brighton looks to be the pick of the fixtures.

Happy to see us at home with a very winnable opening game.

I predicted Reading home or away first up, how very boring for both teams

Sky have already arranged the 3 games for their coverage on the opening weekend:

Fulham v Newcastle (Friday night)
QPR v Leeds (Sunday 12:00)
Sheffield Wednesday v Aston Villa (Sunday 16:30)

Great first month for home games for us - Wigan, Villa and Newcastle. Three sell outs you'd imagine, but we have several Tuesday night games in the arse end of nowhere.

A tough opening month to the season what with Norwich City and Burton Albion away thrown into the mix.

Unless we're in and around the top 2 our away support average is going to be absolute dire this season. Preston, Blackburn and Villa are our only close away games. Blues, Wolves, Leeds, Norwich & Ipswich all on Tuesday nights. I'll have to wait another season to tick off Rotherham away (Boxing Day). Oh and to top it off our final away game of the season is Reading! I think it's fair to say, I'm pretty annoyed at the computer this season.

Blackburn our first home game, Mr Coyle can be assured of "great reception" upon his return. Bristol City away first up. Will be an intriguing first game that as it's pretty much one of those games where it's impossible to predict whether we'd win draw or lose it (although we never usually win the first game). It's a trek but the first game (and a new ground for me) so hopefully a thousand or so of us will travel down.

Fingers crossed Leeds have a terrible season, the thought of them celebrating promotion at our gaffe in May gives me the shudders.

So we don't play a side that was in the Championship last season until September! Wigan (H), Burton (A), Norwich (A), Newcastle (H) and Villa (H) our first 5. Tough start, never like playing newly promoted sides so early, though Burton is a cracking first away trip.

And Newcastle away falls on the weekend of my dad's 50th, loving that

Fairly dull opening for us. Got to rival Reading v Preston as the least interesting opening fixture this year.

Not having a dig at Huddersfield, I'm sure they'd say the same about us!

Sell outs, really? 27000?
Over 20k certainly but can't see the 'sold out' boards being needed for a while.

Reckon so mate. Think how quickly it sold out last time Newcastle were in town...

Really pleased with Villa at home to begin with, Norwich first away game is decent too. Shame we've got Burton on a Tuesday night at their place, Newcastle at St James' on Boxing Day is great. Could be worse than Fulham for a final game as well.

Well the Bristol masses will be kept at bay with it being a Tuesday, that said can't see us taking many to them or Cardiff on a midweek.

April looks fun, Barnsley and Rotherham away back to back.

With Newcastle playing first on a Friday night.....a good win at Fulham with two winnable home games to follow...and there must be a good chance the Magpies will stay in top spot (or joint top spot) for the entire season.

Agreed. Not the most exciting start for either side.

Our first five are
Preston (H)
Wolves (A)
Newcastle (A) On a Wednesday night.
Brighton (H)
Cardiff (A)

Tough first month of the season.

You couldn't have picked a better start for us, Nigel leading out the lads at the City ground. Yes we know he has done it with Derby but this is different. I will be very surprised if we don't take 2/3000 up the A52.
Bank holiday Monday 27th August and bingo its the sheep at home, think that might be a complete sell out ! Waited 50 years for this fixture !

Blues away at Villa almost certainly being moved to the Sunday will make it a St Georges Day Derby :brill:

Trip to Sir Mick's gaff on opening day. Do they still charge £50 a ticket?

Wednesday away is a midweek 7:45 KO. SYP will be loving that.

You've struck lucky with your Tuesday night fixtures this season. Had a look through, apart from the two you mentioned most are relatively short trips.

Also, league cup draw being shown live on Facebook at 1pm. Praying for Blackpool away. We'll end up with Cambridge away or something.

How incredibly shit. The love affair continues.

It's alright, with any luck we can see them relegated on Sky, how fantastic. Reagrding Huddersfield, the club I will be following at Uni. Brentford at Home first is a damp squib, but Villa and Newcastle away in the next two are tasty

Sadly Forest only allocate 2k to away fans.

5 of the 6 clubs joining the division for our first 5 games, seems we have been deemed the welcoming committee for this season
