AFC Fylde has made their fifth signing of the summer in FC United striker Kurt Willoughby

Fylde going about their business quickly and effectively. My early favourites to win the league next season

Not a cat in hell's chance are we winning the league next season. Our best chance at the play offs is to defend our way into them as we're missing out on every forward going.

I think Chipmunx had already ordered a Barrow shirt with Willoughby on the back...

To be honest, there's that many money teams floating about that a fan owned club like ourselves can't compete against. Without investment we're going nowhere.

It's all doom and gloom today folks.

Fylde definitely going to take some stopping next season.

I reckon Rowe is going and they are already spending the money, that's why they've signed about 5 players already.

good signing for Fylde - but as Evo said last Friday our remaining signings will be in defence and midfield, so knew he wasn't ending up here... Red Passion will be in meltdown though...

It usually is.

It'll be all the posters who were moaning he was the cheap option and an indication we haven't got the money to compete now moaning that because Fylde beat us to his signature we can't compete etc.

To be fair, I know RP whines about next to nothing but this one's worth a good moan at.

It's a little worrying.

I disagree. I actually don't think he's leaving. He basically told the club, strengthen to a title challenging standard and he would stay. I think this will be the last season if we didn't go up.

But rumors are that he's actually signed a new deal but until there's official confirmation I won't be getting my hopes up. But we have that year option which we have taken so can't lose him on a free anyway.

5 signings so far and happy with every single one. We're still waiting to hear what's happening with Lynch and Tunnicliffe. But if they leave then I'd expect at least 5 more in at a guess.

We had the added advantage he lives in Lytham St Anne's which is 10/15 minutes down the road and grew up in Blackpool.

He isn't on a big contract either so we wouldn't of beaten anyone to his wages.

I've been told Rowe has signed a new deal. By all accounts we are going to lose Lynch, Zaine and Tunny and possibly another 2. It's good to see we are using the Tas money to bring in quality signings. Tas had unreal potential but it's a great piece of business to get that sort of money for a lad that played very little

a bit like Solihull "born" Mitch Hancox signing for them then - both will feel at home in the area - so will have no issues settling in, which is a risk sometimes.... see Wrexham and Scottish signings...

what's the word on how much the "substantial" 6 figure fee was for Tasdemir?

We haven't even used the money yet. That why I expect a few big signings at some point. The 5 we have signed so far fit in with the current wage budget and didn't cost a fee.

Jay has asked for a certain wage and the club are not willing to match it atm. But he wants to stay. The club are waiting to see if they can get Grant Smith.

The rumors are zaines going but he's ax9had no offer from elsewhere yet. But I don't think he will be here after the duxbury deal.

Tunni again would stay but his agent has offered him out. But I think he may stay.

One in one out today. Thank you and goodbye Omar Bugiel. Warm welcome Mark Cousins.
16 signed for next season now and I feel we’ve done some great business early.

Cousins has been sold to Bromley. One of the least offensive Still signings, but still nowhere near good enough for what our aspirations should be.

1 down, about 9 more to go.

Have Bromley come into some money recently though? Made some impressive signings and now paying money for them too - not that it'd been much though, I imagine both parties weren't against a move away from the Hive.

Clearly there's a much increased budget at Bromley this season. I don't think many Barnet fans will miss Cousins. He was average for this level, although still one of Still's better signings (younger players excepted). Bromley have an OK keeper for this level who is iffy on crosses, but to be honest if you're going to be paying fees for keepers - which is very much a luxury at this level - you could be doing a lot better than him.

Fantastic news for us Bees. Cousins was useless in the 6 yard box which is a bit of an issue. You only have to read the twitter thread announcing his departure we can't all be wrong

It’s not a departure that most won’t be happy about. It’s his lack of command in the 6 yard box that was the most apparent deficiency and he definitely made our defence more nervous.

You probably can for the right price.

Our GK situation is weird at the minute, but he ended up 3rd choice last season but still played 20 odd games.

It’s classic RP. We’re told we’ve signed a player that’s come from a level that’s equivalent to lower NLN/NLS etc, so people complain. Willoughby, who got relegated with FC United, signs for Fylde and people complain because we’ve not signed him. I’d have taken Willoughby, but him and McIntosh seem very similar to me. Only difference being the age and where they’ve come from. It’s up to us to get the best out of him now, like I’m sure Challinor will at Fylde.

Some of the posters who seems to have written us off already are now suggesting that Hartlepool are the team to watch.

I think I'm going to take the rest of the summer off there.

Haha, I think that’s best. It’s always suicidal on there at this part of the year. Barring Barnet fans, Hartlepool fans seem to be the most underwhelmed with their retained list, so that’s never a good start. But it’s RP, I don’t expect proper research to have been done.
I’d expect Hartlepool to improve next season, but not that much.
