Rodney Redmond is a good signing I reckon.

He played in all the playoff games for The Evil™ so unfortunately he comes to us more contaminated than a Chernobyl fireman.

Decent signing. Fingers crossed he is the missing link for our midfield. Probably another three signings for us before we are ready for the new season.

I remember his dad, Paul Edwards, played for us in our 2002-03 season. Making me feel old now.

Could do with a Paul Edwards. Bet he could still do a job now.

Edit: I just wiki’d him and apparently he’s still playing at Barrow, aged 39. Fair play.

I had no idea he was Paul Edwards son!

Thats more like it. Just the type of player we need.

Redmond looks a good signing for Wrexham on paper. Are they meant to be signing Rodney too? Or were people just getting mixed up?

Think Rodney is the sort of striker Wrexham should be looking at.

Paul Edwards - if memory serves me right wasn't he a full back - and a very good one... Played in the 2010 FA Trophy winning Barrow side along with Paul Rutherford

Yeah he played as a wing back for us. Opposite side of the pitch as Carlos Edwards. Quick and tricky. He went to Blackpool after leaving us. Ended up at Barrow a few seasons later after some time at Oldham and Port Vale.

The last decent Wrexham team in the league.

Both have been mentioned, but knowing RP, it probably was a mix up. He stole the game against us near the end of the season though, so he definitely should be someone on our radar.

Completely transformed our season. We would have gone down without him. Pacey, strong, good link up play. Took most of his chances. Works hard too and seemed well liked amongst the team

Was completely written off by all of us when he signed but proved us wrong. If he does end up with you, you’ve got a good one. Better than Fondop.

Or you could get the Devante Rodney who was hopelessly lost at us although granted we didn't always play him centrally.

The crowd got on his back a lot and he suffered as a result. God knows how bad he'll play if he starts getting Chipmunx to update him on what RP says about him.

nearly forgot - we had Simon Spender as the other full back in 2010 too

Yeah he looked really good. Not too many forwards give our centre halves a difficult game. I wouldn’t look at him as a guaranteed success if he signed, I’d imagine he’s still quite raw, but equally he’d be someone with big potential and with the ability to excite. Put Fondop next to him, what a partnership.

Can't believe Spender played so many games for us.

Looking back with the benefit of hindsight, and what I've witnessed for the past 11 years, he wasn't as bad as I thought at the time.

Our two best wing-backs, and having them at the same time was a dream.

Both wingers who learned to defend, which served them well as both became full-backs as they aged.

That 02/03 side is the only good football our younger fans have ever seen us play.

Carlos Edwards was basically a Championship/Lower Prem level player playing in League Two, ridiculous player. And then we had other players also playing a couple of divisions below their natural level like Ferguson and Trundle.

Good times, I don’t think we will ever see the like again.

I loved watching the 98 point team to be fair, they were class. Having the likes of Speight, Fowler, Keates, Harris, Wright, Obeng in the side, it was a joy to watch the majority of the time. But agree, Denis Smith’s promotion team were first class.

Is that the team that included Connolly, who went to or came from QPR? He wasn't at all bad, either...

I remember watching a good wrexham side at undersell in I think 06/07, with an awesome Mark Jones in midfield, whatever happened to him, thought he'd of played championship level.

He was brilliant around that period. Got a couple of Wales caps. Ended up going to Rochdale briefly. Then back to us. Then spent 8 years at Bala. I don't think his heart was in it.

Good to seen him back again.

He'll have took a year out to look after himself but he certainly has a bit more playing time in him yet.

he is a player that if we had signed would have been dog turd, but will probably have a good chance of impressing at Alty
