Fylde have signed Lewis Walters. Not sure how he has done this season at Guiseley, but looked easily good enough to play league football when he was with us last season. Was highly rated at Leeds and Forest, but injuries hit him hard.

Roarie Deacon has returned to Sutton following a season and a half at Dundee. Deacon was probably the standout player in our 16-17 run to the FA Cup 5th round, so the levels of excitement in SM1 and amongst the exiles is extremely high

We’ve also signed Dylan Kearney from Harrow Borough, a young striker with 20+ goals this season
From the SPL highlights I’ve seen over the past couple of seasons, Deacon’s time at Dundee was not a success. He hardly played this season!

Being injured does affect a players ability to a) play, and b) play well. He had a decent season there last year, but an injury at the start of the season and managerial changes affected him. Plus in his interview with SUFCTV he mentioned homesickness- all his family are South London based, and on his time off even last season he would back home (he’s been to a few of our games in the last season and a half)

Yeah, I didn't realise that he'd been injured. The frequent managerial changes at Dundee and the fact that they have been struggling in the SPL during his time there wouldn't have helped either and without the sort of support network you've described above to help him mentally, no wonder he wasn't on his game at Dens Park.

His problems are mostly down to his attitude and always have been. I remember watching him in Arsenal reserve games at Underhill and he was always one of the better prospects but he was let go to Sunderland when he was still in his teens as the Arsenal academy staff were just fed up with him.

His first spell at Sutton seemed to change that, Dos will not tolerate poor attitudes and Deacon worked hard throughout the season. It’s obvious that when he initially arrived at GGL his career had stalled, and come the end of the season it looked as though he was back on track. Obviously this season has been a setback for him, but playing for a manager who likes him, with friends (he and Craig Eastmond are very close) could see him return to his best. Probably won’t start tomorrow mind

Much needed loan signing of Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu from Charlton. Was looking a little thin with Adam Mekki’s leg break and Zavon Hines retiring.

We've signed Carl Muggleton on a months loan. He's not very good is he?
I wouldn’t think so as he must be around 50 years old now.
You mean his son Sam?
No, he’s not very good with the ball at his feet. However, you have to see the throw at least once in the flesh or you haven’t lived..

Sam has no footballing ability and owes his career to a monstrous long throw and his dad's connections, particularly his friendship with Martin Allen.

In the lad's defence though he seems to be pretty self aware of his lack of ability and tries his best to make up for it with decent workrate. He was always well liked when he was with us and there were never complaints about his attitude. He's just no better footballing wise than your average physically fit 23 year old.

Chesterfield have signed Ellis Chapman from us on loan until the end of the season.

A young CM, only just turned 18, and clearly very good technically. Physically he's more developed than your normal lad of that age but not quite what he needs to be at L2 level. We sold him to Leicester a few years back but he wasn't enjoying it and re-joined our youth set-up and was with the first team at 16.

If were were bumbling around in mid-table then I think he'd be starting for us most weeks.
Can we keep this guy please?

We've now signed our 8th keeper of the season

Chris Lewington has been brought in as a backup and goalkeeping coach.

Braintree up to 542 players for the season as they sign Yeovil forward Korrey Henry and former Port Vale and Grimsby winger Sam Kelly.

Solid enough debut? Where did he play?
Left wing back. He did really well first half, best player on the pitch. Got in some good positions, drove past a few players, put some good balls in. 2nd half a bit more muted but he's obviously a player. We've been crying out for someone in that position.

Pleased he did well, although he doesn't strike me as a LWB. He's not really overly switched on defensively.

Not had too much game time recently either, so I suspect he ran out of gas in the second half.

It was part of a 3-5-2 so I guess he was more of a winger. If that formation sticks though I guess he'll have more defensive responsibilitys against better sides. Halifax looked as poor as we've been yesterday

A good signing for you in your current position, he plays with a lot of heart and puts himself on the line for his team. Strong in the air and tackle, he doesn’t lose many headers and he is useful from set plays - scored 4 for us I think.

But he is slow and can over think when in possession.

His biggest fault though is his fitness, he is very injury prone and already missed the first 6 months of this season and 4 months last season.

Get him to play in at least ten of your remaining games and he will no doubt improve your team.

Don’t be suprised if he gets injured though.
