people thinking he is coming to us now.... was Wilkin's captain at Nuneaton

It wouldn't surprise me if he went there especially as it's not a long journey or he could end up at Chester with Burr

Wrexham splashing it about again, surely anything other than a late charge towards the play-offs would be unacceptable given the funds Wilkin has obviously had available?

Storer's always come across as a right cock, although one you wouldn't say no to having in midfield.

I'm gutted that Storer has left. Always gives his all, never goes missing and is great just in front of the defence at breaking up play. Has a mouth on him that can get him in trouble with referees but doesn't tend to cross the line. I guess Wilkin may see him as a long term replacement for Keates/Harris?

Keep him away from corners though. Seems to never beat the first man unless it goes out for a throw in.

He apparently had made 148 appearances for us and the article on our OS mentions a clause in his contract so I suspect he was in line for a pay rise after two more appearances that we couldn't afford.

Worryingly, our only remaining holding midfielder is Josh O'Keefe. We've been suspect enough in midfield without getting rid of our most consistent performer.

Probably, though 6 month deal I can't understand as he's a proven player and only 27, I would have expected an 18 month deal. A midfield of Storer and Harris for next season looks good for us, Keates will retire in the summer. Harris is out of contract but I expect him to get another, on his day he is still one of the best at this level. Really though it's a creative player we need in the midfield.

Considering Storer has obviously left for money reasons, poor old skint Wrexham did well to get him on this shoestring budget they've convinced themselves they have :£

You mean the money we can afford within our sustainable budget.

It is admirable that you have such belief in sustainability in football finance. Perhaps you should tell Mr Fenty that.

To be fair, Wrexham would have got a bit of extra cash from the trip to Stoke so it's not like they're doing an Ebbsfleet.

I don't believe any club can run in a sustainable manner but if Fenty wants to piss his own personal fortune away that his own choice.

Difference is, you'll never find a Grimsby fan say any different. You lot wax lyrical about this poor little fan run club who are doing it all so well yet if you had a budget outside the top 7 i'd be gobsmacked.

Hardly gobsmacking is it? You've got the money Clubs, Bristol Rovers, then Wrexham outside of those who bring in the biggest crowds, which will make their budget up there anyway. We're not talking about a Welling or Southport.

Every Club can be run sustainably if they wish.

It's quite easy to be a sustainable club. You don't spend more than you earn.

Oh and we don't claim to have a small budget. We have good budget easily in the top ten in this division, but unlike a lot of clubs we can afford to pay for it. We are one of biggest clubs in this division. Of course we can bring in good players.

Find one post or anything of note saying how we have anything other than a top 7 budget. Most of us believe we have a top 5 budget. If you're going to spout off about something, back it up. We all await your findings with baited breath.

The most important thing now is bringing in a defender. We are screwed if either Pilks or Grant are either injured or suspended.

We have signed Ben Jefford on loan from Welling as Joe Howe has dislocated his shoulder and Aiden Palmer is still 4-5 weeks from returning I believe.

He any good? He won't be cup tied for the Braintree game either which is a bonus.

Signed striker Kabongo Tshimanga on a month's loan from MK Dons. He's scored 42 goals in 25 apps at youth level.
