I agree not really. It was always a ball ache getting to your ground even though i live in Somerset. The one thing that did piss me off with the Yeovil people ( and i worked in South street -- A Packaging company from 1995 to 1998 ) was the fact most of them supported Spurs or Everton. I used to say should'nt you be going down to watch Yeovil instead of travelling ( possibly to the local pub ) There answer was "They'll only go back to Non league so why bother "
I agree there are far too many people in Yeovil who don't support their local team, sadly this is case in the majority of provincial towns in my experience. The mid 90s when you were there was one of the worst times in our history when we were in the Isthmian league and there was little positivity around the place anyway. Having said that we had the legendary game against Enfield in 97 with a capacity crowd and 2000 more locked out (I watched half the pitch from the top of a portakabin). We didn't reach the football league until 2003 so those dates & fan comments don't tally? The ground is only a ballache to get to on the train, if you're going by car it's easy (although it can then take an age to leave the car park after a game).

We had Ryan Bird & he was shit even though he scored about 16 goals in that season - mainly pens & 6 yard box tap-ins
I think everyone's had a bit of Ryan Bird.

We had him in L2. I said at the time he would be the next Shamir Mullings.

Signed Matty Wolfe on loan from Barnsley until January, needed another option in midfield after Sloth chucked his toys everywhere.

A number of Barnsley fans seem unhappy he’s been loaned out, suggesting he should be in and around their first team, so presumably he’ll turn out to be shite

Have a fair bit of faith in Ardley's recruitment, he's got very few wrong.
There's a gulf between Championship and National League so if Wolfe is on the edges of first team action he should be plenty good enough for is.

Be a bit weird for a player on the edge of a Championship first team squad to be loaned out down here? Saying that, Barnsley are probably more of a top L1 side.

On another note, has you new Dutch lad had much game time yet?

Particularly as he’s unlikely to play that much - Reeves and Doyle is pretty established as our central mid pairing and, while he’ll get games because we have to rotate with so many midweek ones, I don’t think he’ll be a regular starter.

Rodrigues has started the last couple after being eased in at the start - he looks tidy and like potentially a very good player, but one who is still getting used to having less time on the ball.

Blyth sign keeper Brad Young, joining Aaron Cunningham there on a season long loan.

Cunnigham needs games but we are very short on numbers at the back. We only have 5 defenders in the whole squad now and Challinor says he's used up the stingy budget we have this season. Gary Liddle is injured, any more crocked on Saturday then we are a bit fucked.

Our defender from the same division has turned out to be very good so far, so it'll be interesting to see how you Dutch lad does.

To be fair Luke’s he’s actually Portuguese! But he looks a good attacking player, scored his first goal on Saturday with a well-taken effort.

We have filled a couple of gaps - much needed cover at centre half with Danny Lupano coming in from Hull on a months loan (any thoughts from Solihull Moors fans?) and signing forward Kairo Mitchell from Dartford although given he only signed at the start of the season and made one sub appearance I guess they know little more than we do about the lad.

And another, Abu Ogogo on loan from Bristol Rovers, way too good for this level. Unreal signing and return of a legend. Is there a going for it again trademark.

We had Wilson at the end of last season, just before the season was curtailed. Looked alright, scored a decent goal against Aveley in the Trophy.

Easily the best player in the National league. Still good enough for the Third division . Good luck to Abu.

Wealdstone have announced the signing of Grant Smith - I can confirm that to fit within our wage structure, he’s playing for £50 a week, two pints of Strongbow and a packet of Bacon Fries.

Good signing that

We only had him for about a month or so, but he was one of the best keepers we've had in the last 10 or so years.

Smith will be a good signing at this level.

Decent shot stopper and good with the ball at his feet. Fairly quiet for a 'keeper and not one to be shouting orders at his defenders or anything but was fairly happy to come for crosses albeit not one you'd class as overly commanding.

I expected a lower L2 side to pick him up even if only as a number two.
