rumoured to possibly be signing Brad Barry from us too - he's been offered a new deal with us - but his Mrs has just had their 1st kid, so he may want to stay closer to home - which you can understand. We're still trying to keep him though.
Well we're announcing another signing soon so you might be right

Jeff King announced this evening from Halifax.

Very happy with this, serious right wing back department now with both King and Carline vying for the shirt. I personally wonder whether we might see Carline playing right sided centre back of the 3 where he’s played before to get both into the XI

Now then… Jack Clarke next please James:2thumb:

Jeff King signed. Seems to be a decent signing, Halifax fans rated him, right?

Not sure what that means for Carline though now, thought he was one of our better performers last season. Either he's going to play somewhere else or James Rowe is a savage.

Yea what's all that about, Carline has got to be a bit disappointed. Can King play anywhere else?

That hurts. Could have accepted it if he went to a EFL team but frustrating to lose him for free to a fellow NL side. Not the best defensively but you can't deny his attacking quality. You've got a good one there.

Good Cross. Technically decent for this level. Actually joined us as a number 10 believe it or not. Only been a wingback for just over a season.

However his discipline isnt great. Likes a bit of back chat to the ref and picks up a lot of cards.

Overall positive signing for you. Thus ends the worst kept secret in the National league

He can do a job at LWB, either wing or CAM
I suspect he might be employed as a winger, we have zero width. Sounds a good one, cheers. Apologies

I think we will love Carline to RCB personally.
Great signing, good to get it over the line after I said about 2 weeks ago we were in for him things were dragging on a bit

What's going on with the Dutch guy from Notts County? Assuming he's had offers from leagues above.

Seeing a few rumours you're signing Boldewijn, Clarke, Grimshaw and another keeper (Boot?) If you sign all those, surely you've got to be title contenders.

Particularly after their 37 signings in January are added on as well.

Clarke’s already signed apparently just yet to be announced so that’s at least one of those confirmed

Boldewijn if signed I’d expect to see one of our forward’s move out, and that would probably be Kairo Mitchell for a loan to gain experience. He’s got big potential but down the pecking order atm

Grimshaw is a new one? Who’s that? And I’d be very very surprised if we signed Boot. More likely to be a young up and coming keeper to push Loach, and will demand a lower wage

I would have thought it would be Denton? If you play passing football next season he will be little use to you

It’d be very naive for us to think playing just one way and only that way will get us out of this league in my opinion.

Yes there will be times where we want to get the ball down and play some lovely stuff, but I’ve absolutely no doubt there will be plenty of physical battles along the way when the pitches turn to shite over the winter, away to the likes of Maidenhead and Solihull. That is when we’ll see Big Dents in his element…

Plus it won’t be Dents anyway because he’s just been offered a new deal, he’s our Plan B next season

Boldewijn is under no circumstances a forward.

When I say forward I don’t necessarily mean as a number 9. But I imagine if we sign him, he will take up an advanced position on the pitch therefore it’s likely one of our current lot would move on / loaned out

Yeah, that’s fair enough. He’s an out and out winger really, we tried him up front and more centrally a few times but his movement isn’t right for it.

Yeah I couldn’t see him playing Number 9 in front of the likes of Rowe and Asante. I’d imagine the plan would be for him to take up one of the Supporting attacking midfield roles (inside forwards really) to get beyond the front man.

That’s of course, IF we sign him. Gone quiet on the Boldewijn link recently, and I’d imagine a player of that quality will have plenty of offers so he’s probably taking his time to make his decision which is fair enough.

It’s always seemed a bit of a weird link because we play the same formation as you do since Burchnall came in and a big part of our decision to release him will be not being able to fit him into it.

I miss the days of Notts’ operation being so leaky that we got loads of transfer rumours like you lot are at the minute. Since the Danes came in we’ve not had a single signing even mentioned as a possibility before it’s happened.

To be fair if you get shcedualled to play us at the Shay In Jan or Feb the chances are you'll be playing on a beach not a football pitch. So he might be of some use there

Before Rowe and the new board came in we used to get linked with almost every local free agent around, 99% of the time turning out to be utter bollocks

But recently, every time we get heavily linked with a player it seems to actually happen

How much movement do you think you guys will do this summer in regards transfers?

Burchnall’s already said he wants six in, assuming that everyone left to sign a new deal does so. One of those will hopefully be Calvin Miller who was brilliant for us on loan at the back end of last season.

We need to completely rebuild the midfield with Doyle sort of retiring and Reeves leaving, but that was our weak spot for 80% of last season anyway. Wouldn’t be a surprise if two new central midfielders were the only new signings starting for us on the opening day (excluding Miller). Getting Roberts back and Burchnall some proper time on the training pitch are as important as new signings for us this summer really.

Best player in the division Angelo Balanta has signed a new 3 year deal or a two year extension until 2024, long term deals for our best players can only be good news unless our owners jump ship. One more needed to resign in Khan and that’s me happy, add another 3-4 good quality players and we’re really motoring.

Going by how well Chesterfield finished this season I think they will be title contenders anyway even without all of those signings.
