Haha, bring it on. No I think Angus may find himself on the bench now and a good option to call on too. Mcalinden I know can play behind the striker/s so maybe PP sees him as a CAM. I have no idea what formation we’re going to play though

Do you have wing backs? A 3-5-2 perhaps as Mullin and Hyde surely has to be a partnership up top. That Hall-Johnson looks suited to wing back. You'll have to tell me in terms of your left side.

Cameron Green and Reckord can play on the left. RHJ is the definition of a wing back, in that he’s better staying high and not defending, a real threat in attack though. I’ve always liked 3-5-2, that was our formation in the promotion season in 2002/03 with Morrell and Trundle up top, I’d love an imitation of that team and set up

Jordan Davies could also potentially be moved to the left as that’s where he used to play and I still think he’d be effective, but he was excellent centrally the second half of last season

People say he's unambitious. Is he fuck.

With a serious hat on here, I'd rather play for Wrexham, Stockport, Notts down here if that was my best money offer. Proper clubs. I wouldn't give a fuck about League One at all, the only reason people would rather play there than NL is because 99% of the time that leagues team would pay more money.

Just looking at League One, Accrington, Morecambe and Fleetwood and that's just the shit ones I've pulled from the North West. Pub league, just like this one.
You’ve been down here a while haven’t you

I think you've got to keep him central to get the most out of him. I expect him to come on even more this season. He could yet be our best player for all our signings.

I’m just thinking if we’re still going to get this marquee midfielder signing how I’m going to fit everyone in if it’s 3-5-2. Mcalinden is going to play, you’re not going to drop someone like Luke Young and Jordan isn’t going to be dropped either, but somebody has got to make way, so that could be a solution

NEW CB-Brisley- Lennon

RHJ- Young- NEW CM- Davies-MacAlinden

Angus- Mullin

Dibble
French
Green
Jarvis
Hyde

Could be Hyde and Mullin together up top, but they seem to be similar types of players so not sure if someone like Dior would be better as a partner. I haven't really seen enough of either to know! With a couple more faces we start to get a bit of depth too. Still a few to come in I think.

If Wrexham don't win this division, they could end up being the biggest laughing stock in world football. That is the pressure that is now on this clubs shoulders.
Based on one signing? You sound rattled, base the players on the last 2/3 seasons and it could be said that Quigley is the bigger signing.

Clearly we have splashed out here, but we aren't shooting higher than our budget, the new sponsorships are several times higher than ever before, the season ticket sales are projected to be through the roof, and if the team is successful and challenging then we will be looking at regular home crowds of 8k+. That's before you take into account any revenue from the documentary and merchandise from massively increased exposure and the deep pockets of R+R.

We are building to be a sustainable club a few divisions higher at least, but at the start of the project this kind of investment is needed to get it up and running.

I knew when this went through that we would need to develop a thick(er) skin, we are going to be the most hated team around, partly through jealousy, and partly from previous dislike of us that will only be amplified with success.

Do you think the league are gonna look at this 1980s 5 subs shite. Zero point to it

It’s definitely looking good now. I don’t know if Mcalinden can play left wing back though, all I’ve heard is wide attacker or behind the striker

I don't see whats so bad about Wrexham's signings. They've still got 4 or 5 to make yet at least with the size of their squad aswell. T
With Parkinson, they're going down a different route than ourselves and Notts County have gone and that's not a bad thing- probably more good in my opinion. They'll be quite a direct side I imagine. They'll be up there for sure.
Have you ever seen a Parkinson team? "Direct" is the last word you'd describe them with. They'll play it on the ground and pass their way through teams. :dk:

A wing back is just a winger these days tbf. You see dumfries and spinazolla in the euros, played next to the striker out wide a lot of the time! So long as your left sided cb covers the space it's all gravy

Yeah im not sure about that either tbh. Im confident Green would be good in that role, he just needs to work on his final ball, he was making some great overlapping runs at the end of last season.

Surely you wouldn’t be having Lennon as a starting CB? Not if you’re looking for promotion anyway?

Tbf when we played 352 under Dennis Smith our wing backs were Paul and Carlos Edwards. Carlos could defend but Paul Edwards absolutely could not!

Well no, I expect we will sogn a couple more CBs on the next week or so. But we let our entire central defence of last season go so we are a bit short there atm. Im hoping Lennon comes good but I doubt he will be a starter immediately.

Italy had the cover all over the park, but we’d probably be more like Netherlands, letting Van Aaanholt and Dumfries run free and forgetting to cover them haha

My favourite years watching Wrexham, what a team. Paul Edwards was basically Hall-Johnson

Stockport County.
From what I saw of McAlinden in his brief spell here, he is never a wing back in a million years to be honest.

Some big money strikers being signed, but this league is still likely to be decided by whoever has the stingiest defence and most solid system tbh. I imagine your Wealdstones, Kings Lynn's and Halifax's are gonna be bang up for it against the cash splashing big boys too.

What a statement of intent. I don’t think it’s about money, I think we’ve promised to name the stadium after him, whereas Cambridge only offered the stand. Fools
86 goals in 303 games? I don't think any of us are gonna need a bigger boat! :fl:

Wealdstone’s games must’ve had an average of about 5 goals a game last season. There was a spell where it seemed like every game was finishing 4-3
