Fans on our forum think Mullin is a one season wonder but 100% confident that Matt Palmer is gonna smash the league up…we’ll see.

Are Wrexham being funded directly out of R and R’s pocket, or is it through some sort of holding company and is it loans or some form of investment?

The European champions Chelsea played with three right footed centre halves. England reached a European Championship with it (after Maguire came in for Mings)

I understand why the preference for a left footed player as a LCB however in my experience that is a fault of the player if they can't play on the opposite side. It's all down to body position and the passing lanes a player can create. The foot preferance becomes more important depending on the quality (or lack of) body position in receiving the ball. Maybe most lower league players can only play the way they're facing but I'd imagine Fish and Barclay are technically very well coached both coming from top level academies and the fact they are at an age where passing out from the back is a necessity for modern defenders.

Barclay was a big, solid, physical type with us really rather than showing any signs of technical proficiency. Did okay though as a kid trying to help keep us in the league.

We’ve signed Will Fish on loan from Man Utd for the season. Captained their u23s often last year and made his PL debut on the last day.

Our defensive options are pretty ridiculous - wish I could say the same about our midfield but there is still time.

What were your tactics though? You’d presume a players who’s played for City’s and Brighton’s youth set-up can pass it out from the back and would comfortable on the ball.

Desperately trying to stay up by any means possible to be honest. Our centre backs (Duffy and Brisley) were basically isolated by Ardley when he came in as part of the culture problem and replaced by a pair of kids in Barclay and Sam Stubbs. They did a decent job to be honest, but Stubbs was always the ball player and classier player with Barclay the strong in the air, physical type.

It’s definitely not loans. As far as I know they’ve thrown the money in and aren’t expecting anything back, because why would they. Seems like the most perfect owners you could wish for, especially us with our history. Trust me, we’re as confused as you, I’m just enjoying every second. I nearly passed out when they announced it on Sky Sports News, couldn’t believe our luck

Ruined by that knee injury he got in 2017.
Real shame. I loved him in his first spell here, he was scoring for fun, then I think we lost him before the play offs because his loan didn’t continue beyond that and we weren’t half the side with him missing

Directly to start with, they said categorically right from the off that there would be no Directors loans or anything I've that. The sponsorship deals, Documentary, social media presence, Membership scheme etc is all part of a multi pronged marketing campaign to grow the commercial base of the club. Its all about making us self sustainable. If it all works they will make their money back quite soon.

If the season ticket sales take off like the new shirts did thats another large chunk of cash. Part of the appeal of us as a club was that not only were we free but we had no debt, which is credit to the WST. Also a big part of the Kop redevelopment that should be happening soon is funded by the Welsh Government as part of a wider regeneration scheme for the town.

Yes. I don’t think it has anything to do with the wage cap either. Just happens to be a lot of well backed ex EFL teams here right now.

However as someone alluded to earlier, this all means fucking Maidenhead or someone will have the league sewn up in April on a budget of 50p.

You know it, I know it. It'll be one Proper and one Tinpot as it is most years. There will be a gatecrasher that's for sure.

We should have a sweepstake on which random tinpot striker is going to outscore Mullin. I’m going for Gold.

Yep, while we're all discussing formations, left footed centre halves and projects, one of those shit London teams is going 4-4-2 and long throw their way out of the division with 6 foot 4's all over the pitch. Simple game I suppose.

Bromley for me.

I'm making them favourites actually. The pressure on that football club is huge, now. I've decided.

I can't really see an obvious Tinpot threat (unless Daggers, Bromley, Sutton etc have been busy) but this is where the danger comes. Everyone is focused on the Proper 7 and people take their eye off the ball

Fish looks like a potentially very good signing for Stockport, but also a bit of an odd one considering the centre back options they’ve already got and Barclay coming in. I’d bet he’s got one of those clauses saying he’s got to play a certain amount.
Cheers I’m looking forward to this new adventure, I was really excited by the gaffers vision for the future here and once he showed me around the place and told me how much I’d be earning i jumped at the chance to join.

Dagenham are a clear threat, they were on title winning form for the last few months of last season. I expect them to make top 7 at least and Bromley to be around there. Barnet might make a playoff push but I expect us to finish 10th-14th, Maidenhead 16th-20th.

I think I mentioned that money played a huge part because that’s football. I just mentioned that what we’re doing will also be attractive to some and when someone like Rob McElhenney personally calls you waxing lyrical, it will put you on cloud nine
Reynolds possibly but most people in this country wouldn't have a clue who McElhenney is.

Blasphemy. Depends on if you’ve seen Always Sunny in Philadelphia I guess. He has other shows out at the moment too
