Great news about Rose. He's been excellent for us. How's Sousa doing? Has his end product improved?
Nope, his end product is still wildly erratic but he absolutely flies up and down the wing and creates all manner of problems when he's on it. Just lacking a bit of composure in the final third. He's pretty much got a starting spot nailed down for now.

Tom Walker gone on loan to Fylde for the rest of the season. Just lost his way the last year or two, definitley a player there. Been a bit unfortunate that he's had to play at wing back last year which is never his natural position. I remember when he first came on loan to us two seasons ago he looked the bollocks playing in that number 10, floating winger type role. Ever since he left Fylde for Harrogate he's never got going with an average spell back here, failed loans at Notts and Altrincham. He's far too good for the Conference North IMO.

How's Jamie Stott done for you, Fyldefan?

We had Walker at the wrong time, was our replacement for Roberts (v1) when he got injured and expectations were sky high, but not the same kind of player at all. Obviously talented though, I’d have liked to see him with us under Burchnall, would fit right into our army of number tens.

I'm probably making excuses for him because he should have nailed down a spot at Alty at least when he was loaned there but just seems like he's never had a run anywhere playing in his best role for the last two years.

He was good for Fylde before hence why Harrogate bought him when they went into the FL but since then he's stagnated. I was buzzing when he came back here last season. Needs to settle back at Fylde, bit of a last chance saloon for him really if he wants to play NL football either by helping Fylde go up and earning a deal there or impressing enough for another NL club to offer him a deal as he's out of contract in the summer. It won't be with us though. Many were surprised we gave him a one year deal for this season and definitley seemed a move to just to bolster our numbers until Kitching got back fit.

Yeah I’m happy to have Tom back. He should shine at this level. Was really
Good for us when he was here. We don’t really need another winger though if I’m being honest. We’re desperate for a striker though. Sign a goal scorer and we go up. If we don’t it’s going to be the lottery of the play offs I think. Stott has done ok Stocky, no more than that

Stott's another who'll be available permanently at the end of the season. I think he'll be out of contract. Was good for us in the North, never cemented himself at NL level and certainly not for our current set up as ideally we want players who could potentially step up to the FL in the next couple of years.

Yeah I don’t think he’s good enough to be playing for a team fighting for promotion in your division. Not sure any of our players are. The landscape has changed so much in the national league compared to what it was when we reached the play off final. The amount of money and the size of some of the clubs in the division is staggering now.

Aha my original hilarious quip was because Ken Stott starred in The Messiah.
Looks like it went over everyone’s heads.:bg:

Always funnier when it's explained, fair play.
I thought it was best given that the uneducated riff raff on this forum might not get my fantastic comedy style.

Presumably Tommy Widdrington doing you a favour, did absolutely nothing in his month here earlier in the season

Announced. Great piece of business by ourselves I think this will prove to be. part of Harry's first interview:

"This is a massive club and I’m really looking forward to getting started, training with the lads and then representing the club on the pitch,” he said. "I’m over the moon to get it over the line.

"The manager was great in the conversations we had leading up to getting everything agreed.

"He spoke really well about the club and his aspirations, how he saw me fitting in, the way he wants to play and getting the club moving forward again, so that really convinced me. I’m delighted to be on board.”

2.5 year deal - a year longer than I was expecting.
