Although Jake Cassidy scored a great goal on Tuesday night against Southport.

He's not a regular scorer week in and week out, credit where it's due with the lad he always puts in a good shift.

He's OK at NL North level I'm sure, but he got through a ridiculous number of clubs up here when it was clear he wasn't good enough for this level. Including his crazy move to Stevenage, where they paid a fee for him only to sign him on a 6 month contract.

Yeah I totally agree he's found his level had another good game on Saturday against Boston. As for anything higher he'll obviously struggle like you say he's had numerous clubs to prove his worth. That's pure madness the Stevenage move I didn't know that.

Aye Cassidy played for us in the Nat Lge
ran himself into the ground but just didn’t
have the edge.

I must admit I couldn't pick any holes in Cassidy's work rate. It's just we really needed somebody to put the ball in the back of the net. We've released him.

Every club he's been with over the last 5 years or so has had the same problem with him.

Not sure how helpful this is but Lewis has been our best defender, very steady and reliable, he was one of the few who wasnt too out of place during our season in the National League. Personally very sorry to see him go but accept that he is ambitious and wants to play at a higher level. You have a good signing g in my view.

Liam hogan signs two year deal at oldham thoughts please know he was at Stockport last couple of years
Hard working, in-your-face kind of centre half, does an absolutely solid job 99% of the time but the other 1% he gives away utterly needless fouls. If he didn't have that he'd we welcome to stay on in L2. Obviously that's more of a concern when you're at the upper end of the table, everything else about him should contribute to keeping you away from the other end. Likes to bring the ball forward if he's allowed, very hand if you play out from the back and/or like overlaps with the right winger.

Big personality in the dressing room, don't be surprised if he's made captain and will do a good job of it. We all thought Alty would be a better bit for him given your off-field issues.

Wyll Stanway signs a new deal to stay at Chester, great news for us this lad is looking like the best keeper we have had for a long time given he has only played six or so games at the end of last season.

Made up with that, found a right gem with him.

For any York fans sounds like you are signing Alex Hurst off us. Plays mainly as LW though can play through the middle as well. Showed a fair bit of promise on joining us from Bradford Park Avenue but couldn’t get in the team last season and less chance now in L1. Got a nice cross on him just the season he did get in the team our forwards were stone useless in terms of getting on the end of them. Good luck to him.

Good move for all parties, no chance of getting in a League One side (plus we dont play with wingers!) Askey rated him and I think he would be very decent in the National League.

He has promise and he was one of a few who didnt down tools last season under Askey so wish him and York all the best.

Tyrone O’Neill released.

Could possibly end up at our place for the 4th time?

There's no doubting he's got ability it's just a matter of unlocking that ability?

I would like to think hopefully we could bring the best out of Tyrone again if he opts to come back to us?

Yeah it’s a shame a few more didn’t have the same attitude Hurst showed. Will forever be very resentful to a number of that squad from that season for what they did to Askey. It’s worked out well in the end for all parties but as professionals they should have been embarrassed.

Anyway now confirmed even got some sort of fee (more likely based on appearances and sell-on clause etc) from York.

Can’t remember last time we played a fee for a player.
Good to see him and Dyson yesterday getting 2 year deals.
Could be interesting next season ,Askey did an interview yesterday saying ‘we have 17 signed on but can not release names till end of June and should be aiming for promotion.
Expecting a few more with links to Port Vale to sign.

Yeah I’m almost certain in saying Scott Burgess will be joining you sooner than later. JA absolutely loves him as a player. Wouldn’t surprise me if Adam Crookes (plays either LB or CB and is solid enough defensively) and/or David Amoo join you also. In Amoo’s case we just released him but as with Hurst he just doesn’t fit our formation. Lost a bit of pace but can still be a game-changer at L2 level.

Absolutely believe he will be going for promotion. Had a far worse situation at Macc and won the league with the tiniest of budgets. No way York will be just making up the numbers under him.

Yeah Burgess and Crookes will probably end up at York.

They will end up with our 2020 side which nearly made the play offs at this rate!

Hursty is a good lad, bags of potential but our promotion meant his chances were going to be even more limited than they already were with the formation and system we play.

I hope he does well as he was one of the few who didn't down tools before Askey lost his job.

Aye, time to worry would be if he goes chasing Nicky Maynard all summer and then ends up with a traffic cone like Theo fucking Robinson! Am pretty sure he won’t make that mistake twice.
