JR seemingly (understandably) not happy at the ‘inaccurate’ reporting surrounding our transfer business and the furlough saga and come out all guns blazing in the presser this morning. Here’s what he’s had to say, as reported by Liam Norcliffe (Derbyshire Times)...

“It has been really pleasing that the board has backed me on the transfers I wanted to bring in,
But, on that, some of the inaccurate reports on transfer fees we have paid have been wild, way off the mark.

“Also, the timing of those fees won’t be coming out of this year’s budget.

“And thirdly we have cut the budget by 20 per cent going into next year so there is no wild spending here, it has been capped and very measured towards the financial stability of the club.

“The work that has been done by the staff and the board has been remarkable on the football side. There is no doubt we have played very well in these four months, we have been excellent to get up to fifth.

“But the mud that has been thrown towards the club I am not happy with because it is inaccurate.

“It is similar with furloughing of the players, we weren't the first to do it in this league and we are not the last. There has been furloughing of players throughout the league but it seems that because we have been honest about it we get mud thrown at us and I don’t really accept that to be honest."

He added: “The budget has been cut, it needed to be transformed because it had not worked in the two previous years in the National League so it was important we started changing that, staff and players, and we have done that and we are getting instant success.”
Who're the other Club's who have furloughed unwanted players to be able to free some of the budget up to sign new ones?

Loads apparently.

Rowe is very Trumpesque.

"He added: “They scored two fair goals, there is nothing wrong with their goals, one from a cross and the first one is a counter from us trying to play out.

“We should have two stonewall penalties. Stonewall. No doubt. I have just seen them.

“And it is not just that, it is the overall feeling in your mouth, the taste you get after the game, that something is not right. That is not right, what has just happened there."

They are all out to get him.

Well the last time we signed from the North, Ryan Johnson from Kidderminster, he turned out all right despite their fans slating him, Chester doing the same on their forum so I see.

Bennett is obviously back to Stockport after 28 days now they know there's a player there and we clearly can't be arsed with Bloomfield so we'll see if he gets a chance.

Personally very happy Ryan Johnson has flourished. Its definitely helped fans haven't been there imo. He's not had that added pressure and now Hartlepool fans have taken to him I reckon he'll be fine next season when they are back. Although I notice he's not been in the squad recently, is he injured?

Injured a few weeks back and out for the season by the looks of things, considering he was only signed as a backup he got his chance after some injuries and has made the position is own, really strong player who I hope gets another contract for next season, been very impressed by him.

Stockport County.
Our owner is pretty rich from I've heard. And when I say pretty, I mean very.

Whether that means he'd be prepared to keep putting money in, I can't answer that of course. I know a few that know him quite well as he's from and lives around the area, they rave about him as a bloke and think we've simply struck with luck (god knows we've had enough bad luck over the years)

It's County though. So I'm probably as sceptical as you.

He's invested a lot into the stadium, training ground etc so there are hallmarks of moves for long term.

As for this particular signing, aside from the length of the contract is it not a signing that other top 7 sides in this division would make? Notts, Chesterfield, Wrexham etc seem to bring in players at a good rate and with good pedigrees.

Length of contract is the only thing, the lad’s played a handful of senior games, some of them for Lancaster City. Not exactly an outlandish signing for this level, particularly compared to Madden.

Danny Rowe confirmed from Bradford City on a permanent deal, chuffed to bits with that..

After the Asante injury, it was an absolute must that we brought in a proven goalscorer. Dinanga and Yussuf’s loans here are now pretty pointless so if we could I’d like to see at least one of those terminated

Yussuf 100%, useless. Dinanga is at least a pair of willing running legs. Still shit, but hard working shit

Chuffed with this signing as well, fair play to everyone involved who managed to pull this off

Really good player at this level. Good signing.

I won't ask about how Chesterfield are financing all these deals. But you've got to think this isn't a cheap one.

Wasn't Yussuf signed on the understanding he had the option to extend the deal for another year?

From what’s been reported our end there is an option to sign Yussuf if we wish that’s all... from what I’ve seen of him, there’s no danger of that

It's just a loan, but we have the option to make permanent. Goes without saying we won't be exercising. I'd sooner sign my dog

Apparently they have cut their budget by 20%!
The £1 million loan would have helped but it looks like their spending next seasons budget now hoping to go up via the playoffs .
Desperately trying to get out of the league before Hollywood time next year

Possibly. It was suggested it was his option to exercise an extension, which was why he was so keen to sign. That was a trap we fell into with Bobby Grant.

Who suggested that because I’ve never heard or seen that reported anywhere from our end?

Sunak FC have a lot of explaining to do at the next Brotherhood meeting.
I think it's a blatant audition to join the top top table. Their ethics make Real's president look like a youth worker. To be fair mind, they've probably won more than Spurs in the last half century so they have more rights.

Does anyone else get the impression that things could go massively tits up for Stockport if they don't go up this season? Taking an almighty gamble with this wage structure unless their backer is richer than I thought.

Does anyone here need a job? As we give it three year deals like the gov't gives out PPE money
