I've got no idea about wages for him or this league. We had *Ron claims* the 7th highest wage bill in L1 the season we got relegated from it so there has been drastic cost cutting ever since then. Pretty sure we would have had a mid range budget last season due to having some players on contracts still but had shipped a lot of the higher earners off. Would expect us to have a top 7 budget this year.
I'd expect Coulson to demand a good wage for this level, and beyond that Phil Brown alone must be on a hefty whack. I think you'll definitely be among the big spenders, with ourselves, Grimsby and then one or both of Stockport & Notts County. Is it sustainable for you though? We went through the same thing of spending big when we came down here and very nearly went bust.

We tried to get Phil Brown in a few seasons ago and he wanted an obscene amount of money, can't remember what the figure was.

To be fair Phil Brown will be worth every penny for them when he racks up win number 101 all the way to win number 200 in the next 3 seasons.

You can probably count the number of clubs which are run in a sustainable way on one hand. We'll have a go this year. I don't expect a massive change in home support numbers and things like etc etc

It's a very competitive league up to 14 teams were pushing for the playoffs until late in the season. Its unclear how Covid will affect budgets next season but as things stand it will be just as competitive next season making things very interesting

We were ran sustainably. We were training with balls that weren't round.

On the subject of budgets are there any bankrolled tinpotters down here anymore? When we were last here we had FGR and Eastleigh in that bracket and we did our Brotherhood duty by knocking them both out of the play offs, Eastleigh in 2015 and FGR in 2016.
Or will it just be the expected ex league teams with the bigger budgets?

Boreham Wood are definitely bankrolled, I think they will be serious contenders next year. If they keep Tshimanga this time you can assume they're paying him ridiculous amounts.

Beyond that, I'd say Solihull and Bromley to a degree. Dagenham are one of the richer teams too. No one down is bankrolled to the extent of Forest Green, Fleetwood, Crawley or Salford though.

Wtf happened to Fylde by the way? I didn't even realise they were in the Conference North until the other day.

Jack Bridge signed. Give us the title now
Love that Southend are taking all the players that would've signed for London-based tinpotters. You always get the odd few sniffing around the play-off places, but they won't if Southend buy all the players in their local pool.

Boreham Wood and Solihull definitely are. Not really working out for them, though - Garrard is probably lucky to still have a job with how bad they’ve been this season. I think Bromley must be to some extent as well with some of the players they have.

There’s a bit of a moratorium on new ones as they’re stuck in the Conference North and South and not able to get promoted this season.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
We’ve announced a budget cut. I’m pretty sure that there’ll be a fair few in the same boat. We daren’t go bust( again ) ,but it’s not very inspiring for next season.

Wood released a load of players. Danny Hunter says their budget will be down for next year, whether he means that or not remains to be seen.

Seem to be making some steady signings, not used to having us make them so soon

Definitely enjoying this early spree of signings, very un-Town.

Getting them defenders Hursty'd up and getting us shape nice and early.

Jack Payne has signed for Crawley after his contract ran out at Eastleigh (I think).

Know nowt about him apart from his record (available on wiki). What's he like as a player/person?

Is Tshimanga really that good? He seems to go through spells of scoring then disappears for 2 months then starts scoring again.

He didn't make my top 3 strikers this season, make of that what you will.

Look out for Dorking, they are bankrolled and will be in the NL in a couple of seasons.
