With all due respect, couldn't care less what it does to the market for other teams or how it affects them.

We've been on the other side of that for a long time, I don't think we have paid anything more than a nominal fee for decades.
Then you shouldn't be surprised most of the clubs in this league want to see it fail

In what way?

Bradford and Sheffield Wednesday have spent many years being up and down the divisions. It's not the first time Wednesday have been in the third division and Bradford have spent many years in their history in the fourth division. Prior to our relegation to Non league we hadn't been outside the league since Division 3 North was established. A little like Halifax Town when they got relegated in 1992.

There is a stark line between being a league side and being a non league side. Both financial and in terms of exposure- we represent an entire region and there is a whole generation who only know us as a non-league side.

I wouldn't expect a Halifax fan to understand. You've accepted being non league and became a regional irelevance - I don't want that to happy to us.

We did the total opposite. Underspend to get out of this league and then underspend even more in a higher league just to come back here. Absolute visionary masterclass.
Hmm I wonder which teams model you decided to copy for that outcome? :bg:

It inflates the cost of signings for everyone else though. That's my issue with it. Sure you can afford it but it gives other players at other clubs who can't ideas above their level.
Covid has inflated the cost for everyone else, not us.

Not surprised in the slightest.

I said at the start of this whole takeover that we would need to develop a thick skin as we are going to be one of the most hated teams around, whether it be jealousy, resentment from higher up or just general disapproval.

All that money and still below a little "regional irrelevance" embarrassing.

Your lots and entitlement and arrogance has gone through the roof since Hollywood came in.

Our club has been through more shite in the last 20 years than you could only dream of. So you'll excuse me if I'm not breaking out the violins for your 14 years of non league

Welcome to GTFC for the last 10 years. Luckily the new owners won't make the same mistakes IF we ever get promoted back.

Stockport County.
Wrexham have the money. Look at the porfolio of Reynolds and the other guy who is actually the richer one isn't he? And then the sponsorships etc they've brought to the club.

People knocking the signing, worrying about resale value etc. That's for Wrexham to worry about. Why other fans are arsed I don't know.

I've never once seen this Palmer play, I'm only arsed about his quality for the here and now as a potential rival for promotion. I just hope he's average enough to not catapult them above us into some mega form. That's my only opinion on it. If he's quality, fair play, not a lot we can do if we do our bit and they won the league.

One thing I won't defend is Phil "Former Sunderland and current Wrexham Manager Phil Parkinson" Parkinson if things don't go so well because he's been a bit underwhelming so far but they're stable enough. He's getting another real shot in the arm and by the sounds of things will get one or two more before we see February. I imagine the Wrexham fans could want him out if they don't secure promotion.

Hey! Most hated team around is our badge of honour!

This is it. You can all moan but we've more than done our time down here. If by the time R&R end their time with us we haven't got promoted then you can all have a good old laugh.

Also you should be happy we aren't just buying your best players - which is what I'd do if I was in charge (and largely what Leetwood did). I'd have a front 3 of Tshimanga, McAtee and Rodrigues- then you'd have cause to complain!
EnglishRed officially ranks the top three forwards in the division and Mullin doesn't make the cut.

Your club is only 13 years old so I'm not sure how that could be true.

We've been through plenty. We just didn't let our club die.

Yep, another one I'm in the Wrexham fans corner on.

Not getting into this into detail but we get stick over our spell in the North and obviously it was a fucking disaster, but we kept the club alive as we go into our 139th year in existence this year. We were just on life support treading water having to clear up a continual mess. We had the best gates by a mile but we only really got into a position to make it count after 4 or 5 years in the North and with the quality of Jim Gannon. Watching phoenix clubs who basically had their slate wiped clean and could start afresh, waltzing through the divisions and then meeting us back in the North in no time. Clubs like Chester, Hereford, Darlington (Halifax were a bit earlier to be fair).

I look at Macclesfield now and they've lost their club and identity which is probably worse than anything but I don't think they've actually suffered that dreary hearbreak year on year. They just died and now get to rise up through the divisions with more money than anyone else.

Wrexham didn't sink as low as us but have been out of the FL longer than us.

We've both now got a bit of money and ultimatley, hope. I'd be very surprised if both us and Wrexham aren't back in the Football League very, very soon. I'm pretty certain our guy is the real deal and the Hollywood lads definitley have the money.

Spot on: we wouldn't dream of having to come up with a new name, badge and Wikipedia page for our club, despite being raped twice by shysters.

Try again.

Clutching at straws, chucking that at a 30 year old with no resell is just stupid, you should always think longer term than that, I would have doubts about the ownership and management team if that’s first choice!

I get it from Palmer view point mind, biggest contract of his career may be his last, softens the blow ending up back in non-league going to Maidenhead and Chesterfield.
Our clubs getting Kane Hemmings and Lucas Akins from Burton Albion are far better signings and far cheaper

Very true - I suspect those would be less likely to drop to Wrexham though to be fair.
