I'm not overly worried. The signings of Chambers and Summerfield are very questionable but we've signed two players who were L1 last season, due to sign Dom Vose (hopefully) at some point and it's almost certain Ben Davies is signing, who was highly rated in L2 last year. We still have around 9 more players to sign (minus the two I mentioned).

We’ve gone mad and signed two players in a day, Elliott Durrell and Ross Killock. Happy with those, Durrell should do fine, has gone back to Tamworth and done well and Killock was excellent on loan here the other year, albeit injuries have hampered his other loan spells out and about.

I definitely don't buy into the opinion that Taylor is one of the best keepers in this league, he was just an improvement on Belford and people became more accepting of Taylor's shortcomings because of that reason..

Is Jalal an upgrade on Taylor though? It would seem not. So although I reckon we've improved the centre backs, we've downgraded in goal.

I know he did well for you but he was absolutely atrocious during his loan spell with us last season - got injured before he left as well.

I'm pretty happy with the defensive signings. It's just the lack of depth attacking wise that makes me think we will potentially come unstuck.

I also refuse to believe that the whole budget will have been spent . There must be money available to give us more

We've signed Tyrell Belford on a season-long loan from Swindon, and also signed John Cofie from Telford. Apparently we had our first pre-season training session today - it makes a change for us going into it with players already signed and not hoping for a half-decent trialist to turn up.

It's June.

Yeah Nti should be a steady signing at this level. We had him on trial 2 summers ago under Wilkin and he didn't sign him, he could have been a handy player to have, especially with his pace and power.

Was a bit disappointed we didn't take a punt on him at the time. Thought he showed a lot of promise; the proverbial "rough diamond". I suppose we'll get to see how he makes the step up at somebody else's expense.

Just referring to Mills' quote in the papers the other week that he was happy with the squad now as it is . Save for maybe any surprises that could crop up .

Sounded like he'd secured the squad he wanted

Durrell has bags of ability, the only thing he struggled with was fitness. We expected him to be a bit chunky to start with, then get into full-time training and get a bit more lithe. He didn't bother. While we were still in the "give him time" phase at the beginning of the season, he looked pretty decent. He'd probably be some player without the timber and the lack of stamina.

Watch him bag at hat-trick at The Racecourse now.

turns out we've only paid 4k for Nti so not really even a gamble

We paid around 7 k for kurtis Guthrie and he was definitely worth the game, absolute bargain!!

Nti is good on football manager anyway ;)

We've taken Jimmy Walker from Gillingham as our new GK Coach, which just about completes our new backroom team.

So out of the sides who have come up who has done the best business so far. Also any decent players left as free agents?

We've signed Liam Bellamy from Dover... Anyone know anything about him?

He's okay, much better the season before than he was last, but injury and form ghave him limited game time last season. Skill wise a bit limited, but if you like hard working, hard running lads who always gives his all, he will do you a very decent job indeed. One of his other problems he isn't overly consistent, but a good run in the team may well help in that respect

Two of Dovers top four have left on freebies, with a third expected to join them at any moment, as they came back to training a week earlier than most, it's getting a bit concenting that we have also let at least another 5,6 go (and some to be fair were not good enough) but we have only brought in one and he is no ball player, more ball winner.......worrying indeed

Klukowski amd Nti? I thought York didnt have any money?

Good players. I'd have happily had both of those here.

It is more that the Chairman is trying to leverage to get the 25% off the Supporters Trust in return for continued investment.

Atrocious is not a strong enough word to describe Killock.
Not sure what's happened there then, I know he's had plenty enough injury problems. As I said, he was good here, we all assumed he'd be off on loan at a league club after us.

To be fair, the problem was we had a settled back 4 and then for 1 particular game we brought in Killock and Dale Tonge (who is also atrocious!) and they were just terrible.

He just seemed out of his depth. Not quick enough, not strong enough and we got turned over.

Then he wasn't seen again........

To be fair to Killlock it was that one game he played on his debut where he had a stinker, it was his first game in years after injury so maybe not fully fit.

That's a matter of opinion though. You may think that Taylor slightly edges it in Goalkeeping ability, but I think someone like Jalal will also be an important person in the dressing room, people will look up to him as he's played at so many big clubs and has a vast amount of experience. For the younger side we're going to have this year, that's very important.

Midson and Barnard; 1 goal between them last season. Braintree will do well to be top 3 again this season.
