Steve Watson confirmed as our new assistant manager. Was helping Askey out towards the end of last season anyway so no real surprise.
That's good news. Our good run of form at the end of last season coincided with him being involved with the first team. Hopefully he can carry this on into next season to avoid a repeat of the terrible start we had last year.

Jim Green who is a writer for the Chester Chronicle stated that Steve Watson applied for the Chester job but was unsuccessful.

Not surprised to hear that. He sounds like an ambitious guy from what I've heard of him.

Vidal started well for us, but he's rash and injury prone as we soon found out. Not sad to see the back of him to be honest.

Jim Green, a Chester fan I believe, has now been appointed to the Community role that Jon McCarthy vacated to become manager.

I have 1 recollection of Kurtis Guthrie and it was about 3 years ago we played Accrington in a pre-season friendly. Ball came to Guthrie on the edge of his own box (defending a corner) and he did a Cruyff turn, lost the ball then gave away a penalty.

Hilarious it was! Good luck to him at Colchester.

Full back Evan Horwood has signed for us. He played a game on loan about 10 years ago, a 5-0 defeat to Carlisle. The whole team was that bad that loan was terminated immediately after that game. I'm sure he's improved on that.

Sounds like Parkin wanted to go because FGR "agreed to terminate".

Shame to see The Beast go, but with our new total footballing style he wasn't going to fit in to our system too well.

He's slowed down a bit but is still a quality player and a top lad. Hopefully he gets himself a good club.

Fairly solid leftback. Not that quick but he gets forward well enough. Got a little bit of skill for a leftback. Decent signing for a midtable side.

We've signed Craig Ross. Goalkeeper most recently at Whitehawk.

Played for us last week against QPR and spent a lot of time training with us too last season. Decent keeper, though not sure he's ready to be a first choice yet.

Perhaps York .. back home in Yorkshire for him?
But yeah Eastleigh most likely.

We desperately need a target man type, but i can't see him coming to us. He's hated by our fans for the goading he gave us in the league game up there. Scored a great goal that day for them and came straight to us with the verbals. Or maybe he wanted our veggie pies.

Very happy! Obviously the money from kurtis going and jons wages went straight to signing Murphy always used to sign him on football manager!

Andy Monkhouse signs for Alfreton.

Amazingly slow but a very intelligent player and dangerous in the box.

Should score a few at this level I think. Scored 9 in 15 on loan at Crawley last season and having come through at Arsenal he should be decent technically.
