I was hoping to welcome back Izale this week but it seems he has moved on again (14 clubs in 14 seasons!). It would have been fun to welcome back the striking striker again but never mind. To the match....

County have not started that well but Stead started his assault on the charts last week and I noticed a centre back got in the team of the week too. Redz were knocked off the ball too easily by Barnet (Barnet weren't dirty just stronger) and that will need to be addressed. Somehow we have the best defence in the league while conceding corners every couple of minutes but our attack has not got going yet.

Still early season so I'm going for a home win 2-1 but the corner count could be a record.

Oh, Crows because Crawley is a Saxon term for a clearing/field of Crows. Don't say you never learn anything on here.

I think progression from the early poor form would be a point here, a win could be the start of a quick rise up the table.

We first have to stop conceding in the opening 20.
Just wished we'd listened to you guys about Idole McTantrum

Get the feeling this will be a draw or a loss for Notts, can't see us winning any games on the bounce, we just haven't done it for the last two seasons very often

I'll be there on the terrace, taking in the East Sussex sunshine. Can't pick the team or formation yet because Sheridan doesn't know his best team yet imo or how we should play

Pedant Alert:

Youpies; you are welcome to travel to East Sussex if you want but Crawley is in West Sussex.

Pop into Redz bar for a refresher to help with your geography. I find a London Pride (or Thatcher's cider) or ten always helps me find my way to obscure regions on the journey home.

Yay! Turn up for a first half some time and we'll be unstoppable.

First half we were lucky to go in 0 - 0. Crawley had two decent chances gifted to them by defensive mistakes. Nothing else really of Note, we played some nice stuff but easy passes weren't going our way.

Second half awful start, but we grew in confidence. Goal was definitely not offside, and it changed the game, we started to really creates me chances which had been missing. We deserved the points with Campbell, Smith and Duffy having good games.

Which brings me nicely to Crawley, who really did show that league tables at this stage are pointless. Crawley have a lot of pace but lack quality at the back. Never really felt Crawley would control the game, they looked to counter attack, which is fair enough given their pace. To Make Smith look a good player though, makes me think their midfield needs improving.

Who has replaced John Stead with a good player? Looked a real target man today

Ah shit!

Fair play to County deserved the win but faffing around at the back is going to cost us goals this season. That's the way the manager wants to play so we must wince and bear it.
Our goal was a lovely effort. The nod down from Billy Clifford for Enzio to run on to was class. The hoof from the corner flag to the penalty spot by Alex Davey was incredible and led to your equaliser. The County second goal was well done, tip my hat to that one but the third was what I'd been warned about with Blackman. Tried to claim a foul against him in the box and then, while laying on the floor, stops the ball with his hand. Fool!

I think Youpies has called us. Quick forwards, strong, stopper type, centre backs and not much in the middle.

Blackman should be fined for giving away that peno. It was obvious he hadn't been fouled, and he dived and grabbed the ball.
