Probably doesn't warrant it's own thread, but it's a good title so I wanted to get it in.

I'm genuinely so excited for Saturday, and this could be the first time someone has really looked forward to seeing Cheltenham take on Crawley.

We've got basically a new squad with only 2 or 3 players in the starting XI having been at the club last season. We've lost 3 of our best players from last season, definitely our 2 best, and we've replaced them with unknown quantities. Rumours abound about two more forward players coming in as well, but we'll see what comes of it.

Crawley appear to have done some shrewd business themselves and are a lot of people's dark horses for the playoffs or even automatic promotion this year, and I think this makes them favourites for Saturday.

That being said, we have a good record against them, especially at home - so I'll go for an exciting 2-2 draw to get the season underway.

Always nice when the opposition miss a penalty.

And it's always nice to win 1-0 away from home.

I've got an inkling that this is the first time Crawley have won at Waddon Road since the Beazer Homes league days.

Fair play we were dreadful yesterday - no creativity whatsoever in the starting lineup and when we did do something in the second half, we fluffed the penalty.

Full credit to Crawley, they came and did what they had to do and could easily have scored a few more but for Flinders having a cracking game in goal.

As expected, we look lightweight up front, but playing 4-4-2 with two defensive midfielders was a recipe for disaster and so it proved.

Johnson has a big few days now - rumours of Shaun McCoulsky from Bristol City and Danny Rowe from Fylde are good, but they have to come to fruition - if they do, then we might have cause for optimism. If they don't, then we could well be in some serious trouble this season and hoping for two worst teams than us again.
