So where are you lot at now with it, then? What's the short-ish story?

As far as I'm aware the situation could take another month to resolve.

And the shortish story is that we require investment from someone (likely Tamplin), in order to keep the players that we currently have.

Officially a done deal. The members voted 37 for 11 against in favour of the takeover.

Be very interesting to see how this goes. One thing for sure we will be chucking money at going up this season. £1.2m investment coming up.

See diggerdagger.com for all the details.

No idea how this'll pan out but I don't really get the doom and gloom mongers. I doubt we'll splash the cash and it could just inject a bit of life in to us.

Could go tits up, who knows, no point in worrying about that now.

We need the investment to fund the team we currently have. Had it not gone through, as I understand it we'd have had to have released half the squad and returned to part-time.

This could all go tits up or it could prove to be the kick up the backside we've needed at boardroom level for years. It's a risk, but it's a risk we had to take I feel.

Just make sure you don't spend any of that money on beating the Shaymen on the 5th. We'll be your northern fanbase for the rest of the season x

Only 48 people voting?

Yep only full members can vote of which here are around 85. Some obviously could not be bothered. Like any vote.

Like the other daggers said no point worrying about it now it's a done deal.

Unbelievably, when our takeover was put to a members vote there were still a number of people who voted against it, which would have almost definitely seen us go to the wall and start from scratch! Old people don't like change.

That wont be enough to get you up this year I'm afraid but reckon you'll have a good chance next season.

That investment is over four years not all in one season. I don't think we're going up regardless of how much we spend, you will do it comfortably. See you next Saturday.

Fans have been doing some digging and this guy passes companies onto other directors who then liquidate and he asset strips and starts again leaving debts along the way. Our board have fallen for this hook, line and sinker.

This guy seems like a flash git his wedding video is even on twitter.

Deal has fallen through. That's us well and truly out of any promotion hunt.

Why has it fallen through, and what does that mean going forward?

Chap pulled out when it was time to show the money. He did the same to Bishop Stortford and Brentwood previously. Board has blamed it on a members u-turn but since found out that's nonsense, they are trying to save face after backing his bid.

It means we're back to square one and have to live within our means. Budget is about £600k this year will be half that next season and Still to be gone by then. More chance of Ryman league then football league for us for the forseeable.

I'm enjoying this season far much more to the previous 5 so not bothered in the slightest.

I presume losing 5-0 at home on Saturday isn't a good sign.

Our owner, Lee Power, has been involved in 13 companies that have gone bust. He's got us at a sustainable level.

Not much chance of going anywhere as a club, though.
